After waiting about 40 minutes for our food I realized we had been forgotten and went to the host station to ask that our order be checked. Food then arrived fairly quickly. The crab cakes were too salty, the risotto was a bit runny and undercooked. No one came to ask if we were enjoying our entrees. When my wife needed more water due to the salty food, I had to get up again to ask for it. When we were finished I had to get up again to ask for the check. There were not nearly enough servers to handle the number of tables that were seated for dinner and no management in sight. If you forget to enter and order it's better to admit it and apologize rather than blame it on the kitchen being backed up. It's an open kitchen, I can see the tickets. Our bartender was friendly and when she didn't know how to make a cocktail she looked it up and got it right. That's the spirit. I'd have a drink at her bar anytime, but would steer clear of the restaurant until some changes are made.

This is a small restaurant with an open kitchen concept. You walk into an old-fashioned wooden bar at the entrance; the dining room is more modern. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking with the woman who was serving as bartender (although that is not her primary role at the restaurant). Despite being a "new" bartender, she made a very nice Sidecar for me. We had dinner reservations for 6:15 and were promptly seated by friendly staff. Our orders were taken immediately. However, after forty-five minutes, no food had arrived and our server did not come by to see if we needed anything during that time. My husband went to find someone to inquire about the status. Our server came by and apologized, saying the kitchen was behind. We could see the kitchen operating, and it was processing orders efficiently. I believe our order was not turned into the kitchen, which would have been okay if she had just owned up to that. Minutes later our salads came out, and then our food. I ordered the crabcakes with Texas caviar. The crab cakes were too salty and the peas and corn were overly seasoned with some kind of barbeque spice. My husband ordered the steak risotto which was described as having two filet medallions with spinach risotto. The risotto was runny and undercooked. The steak was cooked perfectly but didn't appear to be filet. Again my husband had to find someone to refill our water glasses, and then had to request the check. All in all an underwhleming experience, especially given the price of the entrees.

Liberty Oak is truly a hidden gem of (downtown) Greensboro. The ambiance is peaceful, quaint, and elegant and the servers are absolutely phenomenal! From the moment we walked into the restaurant, we were greeted with smiles and friendly service which definitely set the tone for our entire dining experience. The server was knowledgeable about the menu, and made some great suggestions - one of which was the desert we ended up choosing after completing our meal (pictured). Our meal was absolutely delicious, and prepared with such fresh-tasting, flavorful ingredients. Each bite was delectable, delightful, and delicious! Overall, we had an amazing experience from start-to-finish, and will definitely return. If you are looking for a restaurant that offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian friendly meals, has wonderful ambiance, and spectacular service, you have to pay Liberty Oak a visit!!

It was a very busy Saturday night with Hadestown at Tanger. Service was exceptional from the hostess to all of the servers. Our waitress was Kyla and she was friendly, attentive and worked very hard. The team worked great together and never took a break so they could serve all seated and waiting guests. It’s the hardest working group I’ve seen at a restaurant in quite a while…and they all did it with smiles and great attitudes. While our food was good, we thought the steaks, over all, could have been more flavorful for the price. My wife had the Steak Risoto and thought it was very good and also thought her steak had great flavor. My daughter had the bourbon glazed filet. She loved the glaze and raved about the mashed potatoes, but thought her steak was just ok…although the glaze helped a lot with the overall taste. I had the ribeye which usually a very flavorful cut of meat, but it was just ok, but the three cheese Mac & Cheese was great. If we’re back in Greensboro we will definitely go visit Liberty Oak again because the service really was that good!Great job Kyla and team!

Went for Valentine's Day and the staff failed to inform us that there was a limited menu, the manger was rude and unwelcoming, and the tables were less than 2ft apart from one another. The menu was also not able to accommodate food allergies. I would not waste your time or money.
