I'm only reviewing this place now, because they popped up on yelp as a paid suggestion. Save your money and your gut. We had a very bland, lukewarm meal. My rice was undercooked and hard.

Been to Southbound twice....Second time was for a second chance. Had quesadilla the first time. It was just ok...not bad...not great. Second time went for a BYOB bowl with brisket. Same result...not bad but not great. Seemed bland for TexMex. The fried corn was good. It was disappointing to get it in a cardboard bowl. It would have been much better if it had been served hot (it was sort of room temp). Service was good. It's overpriced for Mexican. I'd have a hard time recommending Southbound for really great food.

I want this place to be good. They nailed it on the design, but they’ve gotta up their game on the food. I think the big issue here is lack of staff. Pretty sure our waitress was also helping out in the kitchen. She maintained her smile, but we felt bad for her. Took an hour to get food. Maybe the owner was in the kitchen too, but this place feels like a ship lost at see. Really hoping they figure it out.

Best Tacos in the Triad!! We were sad when Tipsies Tacos in High Point closed as that was our favorite place but this one takes it! This also much better than Crafted.

We have had three very good meals here and are confused on the ratings. Service is quick and friendly. Ambience has a good vibe- looking forward to the patio. My husband is a Mexican food snob since he grew up Texas and Arkansas. He eats the queso with gusto and is stuck on the grilled shrimp tacos. I have had the snapper tacos- spicy and fresh, the avocado tacos, the brisket tacos which were very good, and last night the carne asada tacos which were a little dry but tasty. I like the salsa and the margaritas are excellent. Frozen swirled one is the bomb! I will agree with one of the reviews that the red beans were dry and flavorless but hope that changes. I don't find it anymore expensive than any place else to eat with dinner and drinks. I think you have to try a place more than once especially a new place.

So, for our first time going! Hands down, “delicious”! We ordered 6 diff tacos with sides and drinks. Yall, the red snapper…. ? OMG! Never in my life! Only reason for 4 star is chicken was on the dry side, and the chairs were soooooo hard. But the setup was cute! WE WILL BE BACK! Oh and the margaritas… mmh mmh mmmmmh damn good!

I was highly disappointed with my first try of this restaurant. The service staff was completely lacking in both number and quality. The meal and drink that we were delivered were not what we ordered, but there was nobody to be found to complain to. When the bill was delivered, the only option to pay was Google pay. A service I have chosen to not use until now. Last time I was go to this restaurant.

I was really enjoying my time at Southbound with Ari as my server. When our order came to the table I realized they got my tacos wrong. I thought “no big deal” I’ll just let them know. Unfortunately, Ari was helping other customers and I had the opportunity to speak with the manager. When I expressed that some of my items were wrong, instead of just correcting it, she immediately cut me off to tell me I was wrong. I was thoroughly enjoying my time up until then. All I have to say is I hope the manager can learn how to speak to customers. As far as the food, the tacos were delicious but the black beans were not seasoned at all.

My husband and I ate at Southbound last night and we really enjoyed everything we ordered except the red beans and rice which was really bland and tasteless. We ordered the red snapper, shrimp, Breakfast All Day, ahi, and carnitas tacos. All of them were really delicious. My favorite was the carnitas one because I really enjoyed how the pickled onions tasted with the pork. The ahi one was really tasty, but difficult to eat due to the jicama “tortilla”. My husband had to eat it with a fork. I think using the jicama makes it more low carb and maybe GF. We also ordered the queso dip which was tasty. I ordered the plantains as a side and they were good. I think it would be nice if they offered the elotes as a side dish. The churros with dulce de leche dip was pretty good. I think it would have been better if the dulce de leche dip was heated up a bit.I wasn’t crazy about the atmosphere for a dinner. I think it has kind of a fast food feel to it, but with servers and a higher price point. I’d definitely come back, but probably for lunch.Parking: The parking lot is very convenient to the business. I think it was very accessible.Kid-friendliness: It has kind of a fast food feel so I think good for kids.

Not many restaurants give me mixed feelings, but... PROS: *We ordered the quesadilla and tacos, and they were very flavorful, hot, and seasoned well. The quesadilla was one of the best I've ever had. *Servers were friendly and attentive. *Interior was cute and clean, and there was ample outdoor seating. CONS: *for the serving sizes here, it's a bit overpriced. $5.60 for a single taco, and $11 for a margarita that is primarily ice. Made the mistake of not taking pics to support this. *this is a personal neg, but... they literally give you 4 chips with your meal. I know you can order chips and salsa as a side, but I feel like this is a bit scant. **EDIT: business owner explained that they donate proceeds of chips&salsa to charity, hence the small portion. I rescind the above statement.**
