“I went here on a random winter Friday in January. Bryan was super friendly and it was literally just me in the tasting room but it was very relaxing. The vibe was so nice even though it was windy out. I got to just chill by the window and do my flight and sip on a glass of their tasty cab franc. Highly recommend, any time of the year. They are open Fridays during Jan/Feb which is one of the few vineyards open this time of the year.”
“I love Laurel Gray!! My hubs and I come here every year and this past time we were there they remembered us! It was awesome!! Their wines are good and the patios are an excellent way to enjoy your wine! The views at the vineyards are so calming. See you guys next year!!!”
“Darwin's Cafe is a great little restaurant that offers great food, plenty of selections, outstanding service, and very reasonable prices. I have been there twice now have come away impressed with the staff and food.”
“Stopping off the highway for gas and something to eat, we spotted this diner. It was filed with locals. The service was great. The place was clean but nothing to write home about. We'll probably never get back that way again, but we would definitely make a point of stopping by again if we did. Meal time or not.”
“I have had nothing to complain about or take issue with so far. I don't go here a lot, but for a pretty long time when I do eat here there has always been good service. The employes come and go over the years. But the good service and the effort twards running smoothly has been consistent.”
“I ordered catering from Prime Thai for 12 people and it was perfect! The ordering process was straight forward. The presentation was beautiful and impressive. The food flavor was perfect. I needed it done as early as possible and it was ready 15 minutes after they opened.”
“I had heard about this coffee shop and wanted to try it. I was not disappointed. Iced "cowtail " was awesome. The young lady working was friendly and helpful. Peaceful setting and so many menu options. I will definitely keep going back to try more.Dietary restrictions: Several dairy free options”
“Highly recommend this place. Service was great, the owner was very friendly, the food was excellent! The pork belly and their shrimp for appetizers were delicious. This is our new favorite dinner spot in Elkin!”
“Great community oriented small business. Friendly staff and awesome small batch bakery and coffee shop. Pop tarts are out of this world but most everything they bake is.”
“Man am I glad I found this place. What great service from a friendly staff. Food was unbelievable. Quality was really good but the plate was really really full.”
“We've been to this place several times. We visit there on occasion from Florida. Every time we go, the food is fantastic and the service just as good. We feel loved on and cared about. Great country place and great country food!”
“Came in for the night from Charlotte to see The Reeves theater. Did not disappoint !! The music, the sound were unbelievable. Great cafe and bar. This is worth the 1.15 min drive from Charlotte to sit in this old theater and listen to the bands.”
“The craft cocktails are top notch. The service is even better. The clientele is eclectic. The owner/operator will always make you feel like family. This is the best place in Elkin.”
“Really great place to go in Elkin to relax, with drinks, live music, and usually a food truck or two. Live music is almost always good. The design of the bathrooms are really cool, and so is the design of the rest of the place.”
“Sat out on the patio with our dog and enjoyed a peaceful lunch. The owner (I'm assuming) came out to advise us when our sandwiches were coming and offered our dog some water. Sandwiches were tasty. I had a chicken salad which was nicely packed with chicken and not a whole lot of fillers like celery, etc. overall pleasant experience and we would eat here again.”
“If you like country cooking, look no further. Home cooking!!! This place was so good we are already planning a return trip. Service was better than great. Easily tip the tab!”
“What an unexpected gem in a quaint little town. These folks are not messing around and put out some quality food and wine. The space is an old 1930s Belk department store that they renovated which is neat and the jazz music really added to the vibe. Lovely and delicious!”
“We stopped in for what we thought would be a quick cocktail, but we ended up staying for a few hours. Not only were the cocktails tasty and extremely well executed, they were visually appealing as well. We ordered the bacon and Brie flatbread which was so much better than we expected. The balsamic reduction drizzle was the star! Our server was the best. She was super friendly, very attentive and she just all around brought good vibes. Unfortunately I can’t remember her name, but she had fun green hair. I would say the Banana Puddin cocktail was my favorite, so delicious!! All thanks to our server for a great experience.”
“We eat here whenever we're in the area. Not just because it is close to the house, but it is truly good food. The service is always kind and attentive, even if you're not from around the area. You'll notice that this is a place for the locals, as there is a men's group that eats there at breakfast time, and everybody knows everybody. The interior is casual with all chair seating- no booths. The bathrooms are on the backside of the building - you go through an enclosed hallway with windows viewing the exterior to get there. Don't expect fancy here, but do expect a quality meal at a good price.”
“A trip down memory lane with this one. It feels like a familiar pizza joint from the 90's without the outdated aesthetics. You're in charge of your own refills, so no one gets thirsty! The staff is terrific and will custom make any pizza you would love to have on the buffet. The soups are delicious (Vegetable beef is my fav) and the spaghetti w/meat sauce is scrumptious! Salad bar is fresh and crisp with tasty selections. I love hearing the pizza oven fire up every few seconds. Makes you almost feel the heat from your seat. Come on in and grab a seat! Pizza is gud!”
“Had a hard time finding Mason’s this dark foggy night! It is located on the side of a lumber company building. Really nice and clean inside. Great milkshake and cheerwine float. Fast and friendly service. Worth the drive.Parking: Park in front of the lumber company and walk to the left side of the building”
“Nice place. Outdoor bathrooms like an old gas station but clean and nice. Food great. Prices good. No real ambiance.Dietary restrictions: Salad options exist for low carb eating.Parking: Plenty of parking there and nearby.”
“Love all the food that is served and the kind people that take your order. The cook is really great on how he cooks your food and very delicious. Love the cornbread and pintos and all the side veggies.”
“This is an amazing small hole in the wall mom and Pop diner. I had breakfast this morning and it was amazing and for six bucks you get enough to fill your stomach and then some five stars five stars five stars. The atmosphere was hometown feeling. I haven’t had their lunch, but if it’s like their breakfast, it’s going to be amazing i’m a trucker so I had about eight or nine parking spots out back.”
“Excellent food and great little hole in the wall. Family oriented and friendly staff. Small town favorite for many years and continues to grow. Best homemade biscuits and homemade gravy around”
“Love this place!!! I always get the chicken and steak enchiladas with avocado and salad on top! Love the salsa! Prices are a little high but worth it! There aren’t many options in this little town but this is probably the best!!!”
“The food was good but our waitress was not. She made a lot of mistakes. The guys who weren't waiting on us helped us more.Update went back and was much better. My turkey Ruben was really good. And our waitress this time was great me”

“One of my favorite local go-to places! Large selection of candy, baking needs, baked goods, snacks, deli meats & cheeses, etc. Make sure to grab a sandwich while you're visiting- they're delicious! It's also easy to make vegan or vegetarian accommodations by grabbing a veggie sandwich. If you've never been, I recommend a Saturday morning visit (it will be busy) to grab a bag of donuts & some coffee.”
