If you want to bypass the fast food locations the Golden Skillet has a huge menu that is made-to-order homemade cooking. They have so many food options. And the price is reasonable.I must confess that the fried gizzard is the best in the state of North Carolina. They have melt-in-your-mouth super tender gizzards that you will not find anywhere else. Most of the food that is offered here you will find at a sit-down restaurant versus a fast food location. I also was amazed at how golden brown and tasty the pork chops were made. The menu is very detailed with their prices.The workers are all nice, attentive and friendly. The dining area is very fresh and clean with great window lighting. This place may look a little old-fashioned but the quality of the service and the food options are delightful.Don’t expect everything to be perfect but for the most part, the majority of the food here is pretty good.Parking: Plenty of parking spots.

We waited about 30 minutes for our food , and also the fish had bones in it , a big turn off for me ..... Also the corn pudding was very nasty and the coke was lumpy as well ...

Quite actually the worst place to order anything breaded or fried in Vance county. Waited 20+ mins for the order and when I did receive it, there was so much breading I forgot I even ordered a pork chop, let’s also not forget that there was almost 0 seasoning on it so i basically was just bitting into a live pig. Asked for hush puppies they gave me a hockey puck biscuit, asked for mashed potatoes they ain’t even give me gravy like cmon. BE AWARE: they DO NOT give REFUNDS they will instead try to give you a replacement plate just overall not worth it

I went to the drive thru the other day when I ordered a large fried okra and a medium lemonade. When I ordered I misunderstood the person working the drive tru and repeated my order and she got an attitude because I didn't understand her. She attempted to apologize to me for being rude but the damage was done. I let it go, got my order and left. My okra was greasy, soggy, bland, and smashed into a small styrofoam container that cost me almost $6. In my opinion it's not worth the price. The lemonade tasted like sugar water with a splash of lemon. I haven't tried their other items so I am only speaking on this particular visit.
