Have had better tasting gumbo but it was good, not extraordinary. No frills place so probably won't go back.

We eat here almost weekly, the gator bites are amazing and the pork chops are out of this world.

So I'm a little torn about the rating. I called in a pickup order of Dave's Gumbo with creole shrimp. It was seriously good. But I also ordered a side of shrimp creole which I was charged for and when I got home, the creole was missing? I called from 750-8:00 pm and I guess they closed early as no one picked up the phone. To be charged $31.37 for gumbo and shrimp yah that is a bit much. I'm pretty sure it said and up charge of $2 for shrimp not $15 ish.

Love this place. Staff is super nice and attentive. But the star of the meal was the food. We had beefy fries, sausage po boy, and jambalaya. All spicy and delicious. Ended the meal with one of the best bread pudding ever topped with praline ice cream.Dat's is a must if you're in Hendersonville.

We chose to takeout our food to enjoy at our VRBO. Very good rice and beans. Friendly staff. Henersonville is a beautiful little town!

There are a lot of above-average restaurants and cafes in Hendo, but Dat's is my new go-to. End of story. The owner and staff are super and the Louisiana cuisine is fantastic. Try Dave's Gumbo or the Red Beans And Rice, you won't be disappointed. Park on E. 4th Ave. or at the pay lot across the way and run, don't, walk to Dat's.

I enjoyed my visit very much. My husband and I had the Taste of Cajun which was a sampling of the best of the best in my opinion. The food portion was perfect for two hungry people. The meal was a sampling of Reds BeAns and Rice, Crawfish Etoufee and their wonderful Gumbo. The fried plate was perfectly cooked catfish, shrimp and oysters. Can say enough about this SMALL but surprisingly good cafe.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and yesterday I finally had my chance. I had the Shrimp plate with the baked mac...The food was delicious and the shrimp were huge Gulf Shrimp with a fresh taste. The service was quick and friendly. The decor was jazzy and very French Quarter feeling..My Grandma was born and raised in NOLA and would of loved this place...Thanks for bringing Cajun Food to our local food scene. I will be back to try the Creole soon.

Best cajun food I've ever had. The staff is always wonderful and friendly and the food is amazing. You'll stuff yourself and have enough for lunch the next day. If you haven't been yet, get down to Dat's Cajun and eat. Its food for the soul.

Shrimp creole is simply the best out there. Having been to Louisiana and sampled the best they had, this place still makes my #1. Can't recommend you try this place out enough!

Authentuc Cajun Cuisine in an unusual location! My husband is a native of New Orleans and the surrounding parrishes, so we are aturally, drawn to food of that region. While on a visit with my dad in Flat Rock, NC, not too far from the beautiful town of Hendersonville, we came across this place. I decided to give it a shot and celebrate my birthday there in fine Mardi Gras fashion with decorating our table. We had a DELICIOUS meal and a very enjoyable time with the owner, who happens to be from the same area as my husband - needless to say, they had A LOT to talk about! Our time at Dat's Cajun Cafe helped make up for not being able to travel down to see my husband's family for Mardi Gras due to the pandemic.
