GF and I came to Boca for dinner on her birthday. This was my first time going to the restaurant. We had reservations for 6 pm, showed up on time and were seated promptly. Our server showed up immediately bringing us water and taking our drink orders. When she brought the drinks (GF had a Blood Orange margarita, I had a glass of Pinot Noir, both of which were very good), we ordered food. If you've never been, the menu has a Mediterranean slant. We started with the tomato basil soup (which was excellent). We also had the Moroccan sliders, the calamari, sauteed mushrooms, and the sauteed shrimp. The food was good, service was prompt, the atmosphere was nice, and the bill was $112 including tip, which I didn't think was out of bounds. My overall rating is good, just not outstanding. Perhaps this just wasn't my favorite type of food, but I'm willing to go back and try some other different things from the menu.

Terrible food and service won't be going back! Waitress was a sour puss, brought appetizers out late and cold and blamed kitchen staff!

I expected something really nice, but I got something more than special and unique.I went with my boyfriend to celebrate a special day in our relationship and I couldn't have choosen a better place. All those details, from the entrance, service, food, until the restrooms impressed us in a positive way.Thank you Boca, for your good taste in decoration, staff and food.

I've been to a lot of Latin restaurants and eating a lot of paella's, it's what it was generic, my wife's meal was the grilled Moroccan kabob and it look like a children's meal it came with four pieces of steak on a stick that tasted like nothing and a scoop of mashed potatoes that look like cafeteria food, then we ordered the beet salad with goat cheese and they look like they opened up a can of beets and threw some cheese on top of some wilted arugula and it didn't taste like anything. Then they bring me a bourbon with a splash of Coke and it looks like they splashed the bourbon. So the only really thing I really liked was the garlic shrimp scampi that look like a soup and the calamaris. For me for the prices that you're paying for it should be getting higher quality food I'm sorry but this place didn't work for me. I guess being from New York you're used to good food.

We went with friends. The food, service and atmosphere was good. It gets very expensive though....we probably won't go back for that reason.

I booked a reservation for birthday party, which included 12 guests. The atmosphere ,and the service and staff were spectacular. Our group had one person taking care of the entire table and Jeff was phenomenal.Parking: There is no problem with parking. Quite adequate.Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility appeared to be adequate.

We try to support the finer dining locations in Hickory at every opportunity. Boca has an excellent atmosphere and our server Jeff C. was very professional, pleasant and accomodating. Our cocktails were served quickly and very much enjoyed. Overall we were pleased with the restaurant experience and meal for a couples night out. The one negative and it brought the overall experience down, was the $26 crab cake special of the day we ordered. 33% of our meal cost before tax and tip for mostly bread and minimal crab meat. This was the highest priced item on our bill and left the highest amount of distaste for our experience at Boca. The crab cake special should have never been offered as a "special" and at that level of pricing based on the quality and offering of that item.

Delightful small plates! We tried the delicious Moroccan beef sliders, the shrimp tacos, the fried calamari, and the **utterly heavenly** whipped ricotta dip. Everything had perfectly balanced flavor and texture. Gordon Ramsay would approve. The service was excellent and the restaurant was warm and cozy - even on a rainy evening. The live music was at a tasteful volume - you could comfortably carry on a conversation.10/10 would recommendNote - the dishes are priced consistently with a nice restaurant serving small plates, but not at all overpriced.

I went here for a work outing. It’s really fancy. It’d be good for special occasions. They have lots of unique menu options. And, our waiter was excellent.

The food is always on point and the service is welcoming. I personally enjoy their tapas portion of the menu and their bartender makes THE best espresso martini around, hands down.

Boca is awesome!! First.... The food quality is really good. The options are great. Tapas to entrees, Boca does not disappoint. Also some of the best desserts in town!! Second... the wine list. They have a good "by the glass" selection. However the reserve list is the bomb!! They bring out a laptop with all the available wines. Very good selections and wines that you never see in other restaurants and stores. Prices are good as well!! Third... the service. All of the servers are very well trained and fully experienced on the menu. They offer great ideas and willing to help if you are unsure. Overall, Boca is our favorite in Hickory in the mid-upper price point. When my wife and I go there our bill runs approx$140 with tax and tip. Now... that is not cheap... but it is very worth it. For a shared app, salads, entrees and a shared dessert.... And of course and good bottle of vino..... worth every penny!! Cheers!!

Small plate, fine dining denotes a certain caliber of quality which over all was completely lacking to the point it was just uembarrassing. Ordered a filet mignon grilled MEDIUM arrived half BLUE! This alone would be a major deal breaker for such a caliber restaurant. Plating looked like it was just slopped on there with zero consideration or respect from the chef. I was utterly confused. My $10 house salad was reminiscent of something from a cafeteria (again so embarrassing) server never asked for a drink order so I awkwardly drank water (city water?) .No problem with a $50 steak dinner but please get it right , it was sincerely an embarrassing dining experience for very fundemental failures. If not with a group I would have walked out and I've only ever done that once in my entire life. Disappointing across the board ,go somewhere else .
