The plates are small and the prices are high for what you would get at a real Jamaican restaurant. the food is not authentic "AT ALL". Mac and cheese dry and bland. Jamaican patties, we've had better from a box. Dirty thumbs definitely does not spice it up properly and does "REAL" Jamaican food no justice. The plates that might be halfway decent are still a far cry from the real deal and the small portions leave you with the aftertaste of being ripped off. For those that don't know almost all Jamaican restaurants have large plates and small plates. What dirty thumbs is charging you'd usually get three times that amount of food. please don't think this is a representation of Caribbean food because it is NOT"You can fool some people sometimes but you can't fool all the people all the time"Bob Marley

I'm from Charlotte but I'm in Hickory often for work and I love jamaican food. I ordered from them 2 days in a row. The reason for 4 stars vs 5 is the first day I ordered the pork tacos and oxtails. The pork tacos were the absolute best I've ever had. Even with them being delivered they were piping hot and sooooo flavorful. The oxtails were a little tough and I wasn't crazy about the cabbage. The tacos more than made up for it. The second day I ordered the pork tacos again as well as the jerk chicken and this time the tacos was not like the day before. The pork wasn't pulled like the day before and it was nowhere near as hot and fresh. The jerk chicken was good though. 4 stars because consistency isn't there but I'm sure I'll order again to give them a 3rd try. Overall not bad.

Food not seasoned the jerk sauce taste 20% jerk 80% a1 and hot sauce. The food is very bland. but the people are very friendly. But this not the place to experience Jamaican food for the first time! If you don’t smell seasonings before you get your food that’s a problem!

Love this place for a kola and jerk chicken..In my honest opinion some of the best I’ve ever found and my wife asked me to take her back yesterday after only having tried it one other time had to give it 5 stars love love love it wish I saw more cars there!

They charged us $1 for each of us for a WATER in a GLASS!!! I've NEVER EVER been charged for a water in a glass!!! this is such STEALING of my money. I was SHOCKED! I will NEVER EVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!even to go orders the most I've ever been charged is 25 cents. this is such a STEALING of my money I was SHOCKED!
