I really loved this place, but today service sucked. Waited 15 mins to even get ACKNOWLEDGED, no menus, nothing. I asked the waitress for MENUS, she says to give her a second, so fine .. then the phone proceeds to ring, she answers and TAKES THE ORDER. Like no, we were waiting 15 mins for a MENU. Had I known, I would’ve gotten better service over the phone , I would’ve done that. Mind you, there was 2 waitress and 5-6 Tables including my own, everyone else already had their food out. I have never experienced this here, so unacceptable. Even when it’s been busy, we’ve been acknowledged. Not this time, so disappointing. I really really loved this place.
Today, Saturday, December 16, I was in the kitchen, my family and I came in and they didn't even take us into account, we sat down and 15 minutes passed, it was as if we were unbelievable because neither of the two girls who are serving as waitresses paid attention to us, we better get up and go. .. How unkind we have been several times and they have never treated us like this...
Website online is not helpful. When I heard from a friend about the restaurant, I took a look online, I was disappointed to find that there was no "Carta." When I went to the restaurant in person, I was confused to find that they had pupusas, which originated from El Salvador, not Mexico. Despite the misleading title of the restaurant, the food was great, and the service was decent. I enjoyed the meal aside from the fact I was eating a Mexican pupusa. Overall, the restaurant could use a lot of work within marketing, but they are doing a good job with their food. This restaurant could very well draw in tourism to Hickory if they step it up, so I see a solid future for this restaurant. I don't want to seem too much like I am hating on the restaurant for no reason at all, I am suggesting changes that could benefit the company, which I am very hopeful for. Maybe if things go well they could open another two or three locations just in the heart of Hickory!

The food was nasty and the staff rude including the manager-someone named Jean?! Saw employees smoking right outside the restaurant and cigarette butts everywhere. Smell was disgusting. Employees sitting in their cars blast Ing their music. Very unpleasant!
