I love going to Mellow Mushroom. They never disappoint. I had time between showings and stopped in for lunch. I like all the statues and decor. I had the Hawaiian style pizza. Delicious. The wait staff was good. The restaurant was clean. Will definitely be back!

We love the pizza at Mellow Mushroom. My go to is Italian sausage with onion and garlic! Mmm Mmm good!The only issue we had on our last visit was that it was very cold inside of the restaurant. We both had to wear lite jackets.

Sunday afternoon , 1:30. Not crowded. Slow to be waited on but once we ordered , it wasn't too long to get our food. It was hot and delicious. Didn't see the waitress much but didn't really need her alot.

We have ordered take ouy many times. We have also eaten in on a few occasions. On this time, the pizza was good, but it seems to be getting smaller than when we started going a few years ago.The wings were a little overcooked.The part I found the most disappointing was I ordered take out online and a tip was automatically added to the bill, similar to what a restaurant does it you have a larger group eating in the restaurant. Don't get me wrong, I leave a tip when I do take out but I generally leave it in cash as I know it gets to the workers. On the card, I have no idea who gets it.Since I come from Newton I will say this is one of the better pizza places in the area, at least within a 20 min drive from me as there is only one ok pizza place in Newton so you have to drive to other towns to get decent pizza.

Dear Leslie Knapp, CEO of Mellow MushroomRespectfully I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent visit to Mellow Mushroom Pizza in Hickory. As a first-time patron, I was eager to experience your establishment, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations.Upon arrival, my party and I were greeted with a lengthy wait time, significantly surpassing the initially quoted 15-20 minutes. Nearly 40 minutes later, from the time we walked in to put our names on the wait list we had seen 5 or 6 dirty tables, 2 employees were having a full on conversation while all the tables remained dirty as more tables were adding to the work load.the uncleanness of the establishment created an atmosphere that bordered on unsanitary. We were finally seated, only to encounter a myriad of issues throughout the entirety of our meal.To begin, the appetizers we ordered, specifically the pretzel bites, were not only subpar in taste, resembling mere bread balls, but they arrived at our table cold. Additionally, the soup we ordered suffered the same fate, adding to the overall disappointment of our dining experience.Regrettably, our server's attentiveness was lacking, the only time she checked on us was to 1. take our order, 2. Deliver our drinks, 3. Deliver our appetizer and lastly 4. Deliver our pizzas other then that she disappearedlike who denie and was no where to be found multiple times and when we did find her she was at the bar having a conversation with tbe bar tender, then she disappeared again until it was time to pay that bill. Lmao the bill came faster then the food itself, that will never make sense to me. This coupled with the excruciatingly slow service, resulted in an unacceptably prolonged dining experience, lasting over two hours for a party of just four individuals.Furthermore, As a result I found it difficult to enjoy my meal amidst such unsavory conditions.Ultimately, I left Mellow Mushroom Hickory feeling utterly dissatisfied, both with the quality of the food and the level of service provided. For an expenditure totaling $91, I expected a dining experience far superior to what was delivered. I held you restaurant to a high standard but the experience made my family and I feel very disappointed. My wife's frustration is through the rough, she expressed to me that she just wants to cry because we felt like we lost out on $91 for the type of experience provided and I just wish I could fix it, we would love it if we could get our money back to be quite honest. I've been trying to give the Hickory store the benefit of the doubt, but after Mondays visit and not getting any compensation for late/lost orders and no response to my message I feel I need to post this.The first time was a Wednesday night about 630p. Not to busy. Hubby and I placed our order, about 5 min later his food came out. After an hour I still haven't recieved my gluten-free thai dye pizza. Had to ask about what happened : answer, it must have been handed out. Was remade but no compensation offeredAfter super rough 12hr shift at work hubby wanted to take me out. We decide on mm-hickoryYes it was 845 when we got there, almost empty, but we did ask if we could dine in and were told mngr said of course, so we were seatedWe knew what we wanted and our order was in by 855p. By 905 hubby had his soup, 910 his pretzels by 915 son had his calzone. The gluten-free Thai dye pizza I ordered didn't show up until 925. Sent a message asking how long do gf pizzas take to make and haven't gotten any responseHad to take my whole pizza home to eat later as it was a 30 min ride home and time for bed as I have to be up at 3a.Am horribly disappointed as this was a safe place (gluten allergy) where I could eat...now looking for other options as them loosing orders is seeming to be a reoccurring habit ?
