I came here with two friends and it was a very average Mexican restaurant experience. Not good, not bad -- exactly what you expect when at a Mexican restaurant! I don't remember what I order but it was smothered in queso with avocado on top. It was delicious, especially scraping the inside part up with chips. Very delicious. The service was fairly quick so that was nice, but it generally felt like every other Mexican restaurant. Overall: good chips & good coca-cola & nice waiters!

We are visiting family in Hickory while on vacation and wanted some good Mexican food. Rancho Viejo did not disappoint. The food was amazing and came out sizzling hot. The food tasted delicious and the portions so generous. Our server Chema was so polite and attentive to us throughout the meal. We definitely recommend eating here and we will come back when we visit again.

Had lunch here last week with co-workers, and all four of us loved the experience! Excellent server who was attentive and efficient. All meals came out together and hot. I had a 3 item combo of tacos, a burrito, and refried beans, it was great! Definitely would hit this restaurant again next time I'm up that way!! Go and enjoy!

Service was absolutely TERRIBLE! Ran out of drinks and chips and the waiter was no where to be found. None of our food came out right, and came out at different times. And found a hair In one of our plates. The place wasn’t that busy for this bad of service!! Also, now we’re all sick after eating there. Last 3 times I’ve went the service has been TERRIBLE! And taken atleast 45 mins+ to get food.

I was very impressed with the decor in this establishment. This was my first time dining here. We sat quickly, however we had to wait so long for our server to greet us. I had to wave her down. Other than that minor issue, we shared the Texas fajitas and it did not disappoint. I would recommend this place

The fajitas were superb! Huge serving, beautiful presentation ... and THE largest, most generous margaritas I've ever had.
