My husband and I have been to Tipsy'z Tacos many times before their changes, and while we always thought it was maybe a tad bit expensive, we thought the food was very good, and we wanted to support it because we desperately want local restaurants to succeed, which would in turn hopefully raise the bar for High Point's Local food culture. However we went today and were so disappointed. I can understand the raise in prices, the cost of everything has increased. I can understand the changes made to ordering and service, etc, as people are seeking out employment in more stable industries, and maybe the changes are a result of not having as many servers. We understand all of these things, however the bottom line is that the food was completely disappointing. It seems that as their prices have increased, the quality and care they took with their food has decreased. Which is a shame, because I really believe that they had done something special and really added to the food culture of High Point when they first opened. It was clear that the quality and taste of their food had been important to them. After lunch both my husband and I agreed that even with all the changes to the menu and the restaurant and the prices, if the food had still been as good as it was when it first opened, then we would continue to be patrons. However as it stands, I don't think we will return. I hope this changes, and if it does, we would definitely be willing to try it again! In response to Owner's comment: This seems to be your response to any critical review. But I wonder if you really read what I wrote? I refrained from writing all the simple and many ways the food fell short of what it had once been because I didn't want to bash it or your restaurant. However, your comment proved my entire point. The food tasted like everyone who had a hand in making it no longer cared. And as you said- you no longer want to be in this industry, and by the food- your customers can tell.

I absolutely love this place! Everything I've had there is great - the fish tacos, the tostadas and the Brussel sprouts are to die for. Cocktails are excellent, too. Service is awesome. I can't remember the kids menu items off hand, but my kids are picky and they loved their food, too. When I'm in the area and they're open, it's my "must go" spot.

So, I've been saying I was going to stop by here. It's my day off so I came. I was NOT disappointed. It's a small little place but cute. I ordered the shrimp taco, beer battered fish taco and the sweet potato has and a pineapple Margarita. All were delicious. The sweet potato hash kind of reminds me of what burnt ends look like but their lil maple goodness was delicious.

Uh. Not a fan. Slow. Extremely high priced tacos. The chicken taco was great, the beef taco was terrible and cold. They say don't knock something until you try it. Well I tried it, now I'm knocking it. No bueno.

We loved coming here and were frequent customers of Tipsyz, however; after their recent closure and new opening everything is completely different and not for the better. First, you have to stand in line to place your order and not be seated to have your order taken like other restaurants. Second, the menu has changed drastically and they no longer serve our favorite menu items and the sauces that brought the flavors we enjoyed that said we probably won't return. We frequented the restaurant 3 times a week however because they took away the wraps we will not be back. Finally, the place has gotten smaller so if your in a hurry or going around noon expect a long wait. Very bad experience on their long waited new opening! In response to the owners: I am in the food industry and if I talked to a customer the way you just did i would expect to go out business. Also if you can't take constructive criticism apparently this isn't the industry you need to be in. Best of luck! I will make sure all my friends know not to visit this restaurant after your snide comments.

Scrumptious food today - love the new concept. Can’t wait to see the completion. Way to go Chris and Holly. A winner for sure.

I was excited to try this restaurant but ultimately was not too impressed. The food sounds great on the menu but the flavors were not too impressive. My husband and I eat Taco Mama pretty often and love it so I was expecting to be truly wow'ed by this place since it wasn't a chain. Still good and I would go again- just not the greatest!

Excellent food and service. The outdoor dining area is a nice spot to eat all of those tacos you'll want to order!

As I've mentioned in my other recent reviews I'm on a quest to try the best restaurants around HP while in town to have lunch with my husband during the work week. I found Tipsyz and we checked it out a few days ago. Okay 1. We might have to go for dinner because their cocktail menu was fantastic and I want to try out numerous options 2. I need to go back soon anyways because I want to try the nachos! I had the ahi tuna tacos and they were very good. But my husband got the Korean beef tacos and they were BANGING. Like a let's trade plates situation. For his side he chose the glazed sweet potatoes which were also amazing. My son got the kids quesadilla and I'm glad I was sat next to him because I easily stole like half of it. No regrets. Loved our experience here and it certainly won't be the last time we stop in for margaritas.. I mean food.
