4-6-244:45am I walked in and there was 4 kids gathered near the juke box talking & 2 of them smoking with a thick smoke haze hanging in the air . 1 of them was sitting up on the short counter where someones plate will be later. I sit down in a booth as my server greeted me and I asked her "you can smoke in here ?".She just kinda looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about, I think she was just scared to say anything . I repeated the question pointing at the kids. Without saying a word she walked to the other end of the restaurant and started talking to a big heavyset African-American. Probably a night manager or something. I could see right then, he was scared to say anything too. The place was smelling like an ashtray. I just got up and left. There are MUCH better places to eat than this.

I Really Hate To Leave A Bad Review, Because I Eat Here Alot, this one particular breakfast was good with the exception of the cold waffle and cold syrup and butter wouldn't melt, without argument my server and cook made it right,, I Will dine

I have not eaten at Waffle House in years! However, I wanted an omelette. A lot happened to make it a bad experience. I will begin with entering the establishment...there was no greeting from any workers. I would have left, but wanted that omelette. Eventually, a cashier asked me if I was ordering takeout. I replied with yes. There was not a full menu to view. I was given what she referred to as a "Cheat sheet." My order consisted of the omelette, hashbrowns which were not edible. I ordered a side of grits and raisin bread toast with apple butter. While waiting for my order, two front employees were having a personal conversation about someone at the register in front of me. Additionally, a male cook and a female worker started to argue and the guy called the girl a liar about lids. This arguing is not acceptable! Training and observation needs to be incorporated within this organization. To continue, I get home and notice there was no raisin toast. Whomever packed my to go order should have realized this or the cook that stated that the order was heard. The order was repeated back, so I don't understand why I got something else. Lastly, the omelette meat was hard (ham), the hashbrowns were hard, not appealing, and overcooked. The grits were ok, and once again, I did not get my raisin toast. I feel like I may have been overcharged because of this cheat sheet situation. The atmosphere of the restaurant looked horrible from the front to the back. A hole in the wall so to speak. Waffle House has really declined throughout the years. The absolute worst experience ever! If staff were nicer, maybe the tips would get better!
Food was undercooked and wet throughout. Empty drink cup at 60 second mark on a hot day and the 2 gay servers were actually laying on one another instead of serving. Servers disappeared immediately after delivery. Cook had to go outside to their car to get the ticket so we could pay. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. I'll watch my family starve before I return.

Only reason I’m rating them a “3” star is simply because of 3rd shift! 1st shift especially the grill op and the little skinny light skin girl are HORRIBLE. She doesn’t need to be a waitress if she can’t listen to basic requests. I understand we’re all human and make mistakes but her were a little absurd. Maybe if the grill op didn’t baby her she would be better off. It took a long time to receive the orders and once Received wasn’t right. She didn’t try to make it right either. I’ll never return to this location I’ll drive to Archdale before I do.
