“This was my first visit to Sammio's, and I was brought by a friend. I am a very picky eater and very rarely try anything outside of my normal 'Merican fast food. The menu had plenty of items that I felt comfortable with, and on this trip I tried the pepperoni pizza. It was a Wednesday special, large one-topping-pizza for $7.99. I was pleasantly surprised, as it arrived very hot and fresh, and larger than I expected. I ate half the pizza there, and in interest of not looking like a sloppy pig, took the other half home, where I gobbled it down too. Also, as this was my first time, I tried any of the leftover bread on the table, which was delicious all on its own. The pizza was cooked perfectly, with crispy crust and crispy yet chewy pepperonis. The sauce was the perfect amount, not too thin but also not dripping, and was thick n' zesty. The place was not super crowded, but was busy, and service was fast and friendly. If the service is consistent like I experienced, I could see some people being overwhelmed, as it seemed that every employee that passed us by asked if everything was good and if we needed our drinks filled. I personally appreciated it though. All said and done, my bill was roughly $12 and I left them a $20. I definitely want to come back and try the mozzarella sticks, bacon cheese fries, burgers, and a few more items. It has a nice atmosphere, and you could hear the regulars chatting with the staff and across tables. Again, some people may be bothered by this, however it always makes me feel more comfortable and assures me that the place is good enough to have regular returning customers that can build a relationship. I can't speak to Italian authenticity and the expected menu, however for a 40-year-old adult with the food palette of a 12-year-old, I was thoroughly impressed.“

The sauce was ok with not too much flavor or heat.The menu is large with many options. For my first time I always choose a beef taco and poblano pepper. If the basics are done well then a Mexican restaurant is deserving a high rating. If the food tastes like Taco Bell....well.The beef taco was excellent. Lots of flavorful ground beef, freshly grated cheese, and tasty tomatoes and lettuce.The poblano pepper was excellent. Highly recommend. The chilli relenos stole the show.Great lunch. But they are open plenty of hours for a family operating a restaurant, prices have gone up everywhere, and service has been quick and friendly every time we’ve eaten here. The food is amazing.
