We celebrated my mother in law's birthday this evening. Nick, the manager, was very accommodating when we needed to add more people to the reservation. We had a nice table outside on the patio. Our server Amani was wonderful! She was very attentive, competent, patient, and kind! She made sure all of our allergies were taken into consideration. Thank you Amani for helping to make our celebration special!

Hello Indian Trail,I called Hickory Tavern in Indian Trail today and asked the person on the phone if they had their special on the wings today which he replied yes so I put my order in. When I picked them up I noticed that the discount wasn't on the wings. I proceeded to ask the bartender I thought the wings were half-priced off today. She proceeded to tell me it's only for dine in. I told the lady that the guy who answered the phone never specified that. I ended up paying full price which is fine. But then when I sat in my car I decided to call and let the manager know because I felt like I had gotten screwed over. When I called the same guy answered that took my order. I proceeded to tell him I needed to speak to the manager. The manager spoke on the phone and I told him what had happened. After we were done talking he proceeded to ask me " did you ask about the discount being for take out specifically". This made me even more frustrated because I felt like this is what they train their workers to do. If I was working and taking an order I would make sure that my customer knew that the discount was not for take out and only for dine in as that is my job to be transparent with the customer. I was never told this which made me feel misinformed and not taken into account as I was charged full price even after explaining. It's only a couple of dollars more but. Why do this with the customer to make a sale? I didn't like that and will not buy anything from here any longer.Beware!Update: Upper management reached out to me. We spoke about my encounter. The lady I spoke to agreed with me and apologized for her staff behavior. She also told me the steps she took in order to assure this doesn't happen again.Hickory Tavern I appreciate your management team, you have proven your integrity to your customers. Thank you for making this wrong right!Looking forward to many more years of business.

My Husband and I only come here at night and sit at the bar, we absolutely love our New York bartender! Well yesterday 3/17/24 we went to have early dinner and relax sat outside and boy did drama occur. Our sever Amani was amazing, however we sit down next to a group of two guys and one of the servers that’s a regular, being the guys was showing off and burning out their tires why I don’t know. What upsets us is there was not only a table with babies outside but both the men were drinking! The manager Conner came out right away because all the burn rubber got on someone’s car and not to mention he could have ran right into the railing with all of us! I have notice this place is much better with Conner apart of this establishment now! The food back to being on point and the way he handled the situation was on point! I have worked in restaurants as a manager for over 15 years and this guy did everything right, he immediately came outside from the gust of smoke from the tires to see what was going on to calling the cops. It’s a shame the girl who is a regular sever didn’t think it was a problem! I get it, it was St. Patty's day but girl you got in the car revved the engine and initiated this whole situation. Showing off got one of the guys shiny bracelets for the night! As our waitress said Dinner and a show! We just came home from our anniversary weekend and was so hungry so went to our place! Welcome HOME!! I wanted to thank our waitress Amani she was so apologetic she was slammed and made sure to keep checking on us and I wanted to give Conner a good review for sprinting into action for us families!

This hickory tavern has made me wait very long times as a doordasher before but usually they are large orders so I don’t care, sometimes they are just really busy though and you’re screwed but I get it

We just left Hickory Tavern at Sun Valley. They were not busy at all. We seated. Waited 15 minutes with waitresses twice walking past us and watching another family comein and seated and waited on them. Found the manager in a room off the main dinning area with a waitress folding napkins. Told he we had come back today to give them another chance due to poor service at this location before. All we got was oh! He half way stood up. Walking out the reception area girl said have a nice day and I told her we never got waited on. She to said..Oh!!! Neither of them apologized, neither tried to fix the situation. We quit going to the Hickory Tavern in Indian Trail due to bad service and attitude and have been going weekly to the one in Wesley Chapel for over two years now. Indian Trail supposedly had the Irish meal for St Patrick's Day at the one in Wesley Chapel didn't. That is why we went to Sun Valley. We are now at Wesley Chapel, in 5 minutes seated and taken care of when there is a great attitude and smiles. Will never go to Sun Valley location again.

My husband and I came in last night.. The food was good and the service was great!! I loved the bbq nachos. The female manager was so pleasant and checked on us a few times throughout our meal which was very nice. She told us to sign up and we will get another bbq nacho for free when we come back! That’s awesome! Very good hospitality from everyone.
Best double burger I've had in a while mushroom Swiss an excellent onion rings. Great service from Rachel.

Came here with a large group of 12 without a reservation as honestly did not think they even took reservations given it is like an ale house. We had no problem waiting as not in a rush but the issue was the attitude of the manager and hostess. They treated us like idiots for not having made a reservation and were very condescending and taking about us to others. We did not complain when they sat us at a table for 8, maybe it could hold 10, but we happily squeezed in. Our direct server was good but the food came out in spurts so not everyone was able eat at the same time as there are no food runners. The citrus shrimp on the tacos were very wet and not grilled, the tater tots had that old fried oil taste and the bbq chicken on the power bowl was very spicy when it should not be spicy at all. I have not been an HT fan given prior experiences but the group wanted to go here.. sadly they continue to disappoint.

I'll start off by saying our service was great and we had no issues with the waitress. She was attentive and made sure she checked in multiple times. The food was lackluster. I ordered fish and chips. I would recommend taking this off the menu until it's revamped because it was almost off-putting. There were 3 small pieces of cod with a ton of batter that wasn't cooked properly. My husband had the wings, which were good, crispy on the outside. If you need a place to eat that's kid friendly but subpar food, this will work.
