“The bang bang shrimp were cooked & seasoned perfectly. We also had the crab cake sandwich & the pork bbq sandwich. They have a bbq sauce or the most popular vinegar based sauce. It was so good because bought a thing of their award winning vinegar sauce. The staff were so polite & the food came out fast & hot... this is our new favorite secret to eat..... they do breakfast, lunch, & dinner. It's very casual w/ a full bar . The bar seats around 12-15 people..”

“We went just looking for a Sunday afternoon excursion from the beach. Were very pleasantly surprised. All the wines we tasted (dry whites and reds) were awesome! The gentlemen who was working there was very cordial and informative. He even took us in the back to see the wine barrels and explained some about the wine-making process. I am writing this review after visiting the paper canoe for the 3rd time. I have ordered different menu items, while my partner has only ordered the scallops as “they have the best scallops I’ve ever had in my life”. She has gone so far as to stop ordering scallops elsewhere as The Paper Canoe has ruined all other scallops for her, as they are just so good.The paper canoe is one of the, if not the best restaurant we have dined at. The atmosphere is top tier, and if you book your reservations the right time, you’ll be able to watch the sun set while you dine.The beauty of nature, mixed with the pure culinary skill of the chef, and the professionalism of the staff make this so much more than a restaurant, it’s an experience.I can not recommend The Paper Canoe enough. 15/10And attached are photos of the scallop entree, the cast iron shrimp and grits, and the sweet and sour lemonade w/ edible straw”

“BEST PORK CHOP EVER. So what if I order a pork chop at ever restaurant that boasts one. I expect pork perfection - and The Blue Point achieved it. Pork excellence! This chop was beyond good. It had this crust with a bacon essence that just made me laugh it was so good. And the bread pudding had the perfect savoriness. Oh my word! It’s a must try! My hubs got the crab cakes - also VERY GOOD. But the night belonged to Porky-God rest his soul. He was VERY good.”

“My family and I haven’t been to OBX in about 10 years. We stayed in Corolla for a week, and found Driftwood Coffee Co within the first day of arriving. Safe to say that all 10-12 of us went 3-4 times EACH during our week stay ? Coffee is delicious. Very friendly service. Owner is extremely kind, and very talented! She displays her paintings around the shop as well as her jewelry. Come to find out, the shop has only been open since April. I have a feeling they will continue to do very well during the summer months. We will be back!”

“This place is out of this world! First‐ our server, Luke, was top notch. He was kind, helpful, and friendly. We ordered the the Chef special which is a sampling of a majority of their their menu. 7ish items. I am from the mountains and not a big seafood fan but we scarfed everything in front of us. All the food was seasoned to perfection. Lastly, the beignets as dessert were delicious! As a vacationer, I would come back to OBX just for this restaurant.”

“My son and I stopped by to get pizza before heading home from the outer banks, and I will say that we were glad we did. The garlic cheese bread and pizza were absolutely delicious! Our waitress was very nice, and our pizza came out in about 15-20 minutes. I have put this place on my list to visit again if I'm in the area, no doubt!”

“Although we have been coming to Duck for a number of years this was our first time in Corolla, and our first visit to Metropolis. Everything was delicious! My wife and I ordered 4 plates to share (yes, small servings but it calls itself a Tapas Bar so that was expected by us). King Trumpet Mushroom Bisque with Crab was delicious...thick, creamy with a mix of great flavors. Mixed Grill had shrimp and tune with a great cumin and garlic yogurt sauce. The scallops were cooked perfectly with a very light blue cheese cream sauce. And finally a flight of chocolate candies with very interesting flavors...everything from dark chocolate with a caramel flavor to chocolate infused with a beaujolais flavor. Overall a fun experience...will definitely be back.”

“Had a great night at Mama Easley's. It was 8-9 years ago that I last stopped in. I had one of the best fish tacos I've ever had. We were back again and I was hoping it was still open. Thank God it was, and it's been thriving. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, but the hospitality was over the top! It was busy, we had a five minute wait by the water out back and promptly were seated. I was craving for clam strips, they didn't disappoint and the wife had blackened shrimp. I really love calamari, so I made a last minute decision to have those as well and the Siti of the day. All outstanding!”

“Are these the best bagels I’ve ever had? They are good, but probably not the best.But that doesn’t matter. You can tell when you come here and interact with the staff and eat their food that they care about what they do. There is something nice about a business that specializes in one thing.These bagels are outstanding and their breakfast sandwiches are excellent. The staff is very outgoing and friendly. “We visited this place on our way to see the wild horses in Outer banks. We came here based on the great rating for this place on Google. Here is the summary of our experience here:1) Ambiance 4/5: The ambiance is good but there was no one when we visited. You have some place to sit on the side of the counter.2) Service 3/5: I am forced to give it a bad rating. The owner is really helpful and delightful to talk to but the younger staff (I assume the son) didn't seem to care at all. Any request for anything took a lot of time even though there was nobody else apart from my family3) Food 4/5: The food was a mixed bag. Here is the summary of the experience:a) Tofu Thai fried rice: The tofu was really soft and filling. I really liked the bowlb) Chicken Thai fried rice: While the quantity was good, my family didn't like the tastec) Crab rangoon: They were crispy and good.4) Value for money 4/5: Although, they are pricey, the quantity is good and also in such tourist places, generally things are costly,. “This place is the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. The food is amazing the staff is so nice. This is definitely not a place you judge at it’s look don’t get me wrong it’s super clean just not fancy but I’m not paying for atmosphere I want great food kind staff and a good price and this place exceeds that. I live about 2 hours from here and would be willing to drive that for dinner here. “Must try! Delicious food! We had the chopped cheese sub, kids hot dog and fries, Martinsville hot dog, and PK's checkered flag fries! Slaw was unique and really good! Awesome display of NASCAR memorabilia too. Our daughter had a really awesome experience. She got the classic car add on to the kids meal, which she really enjoyed. The owner also let her pick a bracelet and gave her a bag of popcorn to go! We will be back on our next trip to the beach ?”

“Visited Whalehead Brewery today for the first time, BUT, after an outstanding pizza and cold, delicious tap beer, it will not be the last!!! The pizza's crust was crisp while soft inside with fresh ingredients. Congratulations to Christin, the owner....the brick oven and robot deliverer are the bomb!!! “Finding good sushi when you're from out of town can be hard... You're always a little worried that you'll leave sick this place was amazing. great service and awesome sushi. Small, homey, family run. really loved the Fusion rolls and the pork gyoza was exaxtly what I was hoping for! Highly recommend!”
