The food is good. Fried fish and chicken is dropped fresh which is really good. The only item that I wish were different are the turkey wings in brown gravy. I’ve never seen that before in the South. The wings taste good but I’m not fond of the gravy. In my opinion it would be cooked in cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, or have a natural gravy.

I came here a couple of weeks ago when I had business to take care of in Goldsboro. I googled "best soul food" and this place came up. I knew Kinston wasn't too far away so, I took that little drive. The food is sooooo good. How good? So good that I literally drove over an hour and a half today from my home just to eat there. Their hours on Google said that they were open but I pulled up to a closed restaurant. On their door, it says that they're open the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sunday. Well, today was the 4th Sunday and I was highly disappointed. This post isn't meant to disparage the food or the customer service. In fact, I encourage everyone to give them a try, but the owners need to make sure the correct business hours are posted.

I love this place! The staff is so kind and friendly. I didn’t know exactly what to order and pulled into the drive thru and the man that was there was so polite and helpful and told me everything that was on the menu and had a great attitude.

We were wanting to try somewhere new so I googled this place and when we got there it didn't look too inviting from the outside. We went in to place oir order and they were busy so we waited. After about 15 mins we placed our order. Several people came in after us and they started getting their orders and we still were waiting. After about 35 mins waiting my husband went to inquire and the young lady said "come on bc I am felling so type of way". We didn't know what that meant bc we too were felling so type of way. So she took our order again and proceeded to fix it herself. It still took another 15 min to get our food. Over all we were there about an hour before eating. BUT....I see why people keep going back and enduring the wait. The food was the best southern cooking I have ever had. I had smothered porkchops, rice, yams, baked mac n cheese. My husband had beef tips, rice, yams, and stewed okra. It was awesome and we are glad we didn't get mad and leave. I don't know if we will go back but if you don't mind waiting for it you will not be disappointed.

First time eating here but I can assure you it will not be my last. The vegetables were seasoned perfectly and pork chops were very tender and delicious!
