I ate there for lunch today and ordered the fajita wrap and it was a waste of money. I spent $12 and couldn’t even eat it. It had absolutely no taste at all and it was full of white rice which was not even written on the menu as a listed ingredient in it. I was highly disappointed and I won’t be going back.

Big no - totally flored by 4.5 star rating. Instead of eating at a chain while passing through, decided to try local place. Wish I had stuck with chain. Got hamburger and was awful - meat tough, no flavor, ice cold bun. Even tater tots tasted weird - either was the oil or freezer taste. Another with me got chicken salad sandwich - was just chunks of chicken tossed in a little mayo - that's it - no seasoning, pickles, egg, celery, anything. Next time will try another local place or stay with a chain.

Traveled an hour to eat here because we had heard good things. Website says you open at 10 and so we got here about 10:15. Unfortunately your website didn’t say you would be closed for a staff meeting. Lovicks around the corner sure was good. You may want to have your staff meeting before or after your dining hours from now on. We won’t be back.

I saw reviews online for a crab cake sandwich, went to try it, but they no longer had it. I decided to try a grouper sandwich with slaw and sweet potato fries. Grouper was tasty, paid extra for getting the slaw and was had barely enough to cover a third of the sandwich. I feel if you are gonna charge extra for a condiment at least give me enough for it to be a condiment. Sweet potato fries were good.

Kind of bummed out as looking online seems this place is awesome, maybe we hit a bad day or something. Had the grouper sandwich with fries, fish was perfect, fries mushy. Onion rings had great texture but way too much salt in the batter. Wife ordered a grilled cheese with slice of tomato inside, they said 2 types of cheese and tater tots. The tots were WAY overcooked, maybe precooked and then dropped in the fryer again? They were hard, I mean pork rind hard. The sandwich didn't have the tomato, which was probably good since the cheese wasn't melted AT ALL and the bread edge was soggy like maybe it had been frozen? Anyway, many have bragged, wish I could but won't be going back. Sorry...

One of the best local restaurants in the Kinston area! I've been here two or three times, and have never left unsatisfied with my meal. The service is usually quick and friendly, and the food is a great mix-up from the traditionally Southern style food at local restaurants in the area. Highly recommend!

Stop changing the menu!!! Mad hatter used to be one of our favorites, sadly it’s been a huge disappointment the last few times. More time, money and concern on the outdoor area and less in the food and service. Staff is rude, food is worse and worse every time we go.

I love The Mad Hatter. I've been here twice and it gets better every time. The staff is awesome and the decour is very different from other, run of the mill places. I will definitely be coming back for a 3rd round!

Very casual and food was really good. I had grilled cheese and their soup of the day, a fantastic cup of lobster bisque!

3 families got their food before I was given mine and I had to go to the counter to get it. Food was cold, fries were soggy. Will not go again.

Tasty food, but they do need a special line for people picking up to-go orders. The line was too long to wait when I had already ordered and my food got a little cold.
