Found out about this place years ago and simply pleased with every single visit. Beautiful portions for a very reasonable price. Will make the hour- hour and a half drive because it's just that good. Guys on my job can't wait to go to OBX so they can stop by Spanky's. Will recommend this place to all I know.
Spankys is a family favorite! Great quality food at a good price! We love sitting inside or outside at the picnic tables! Service is always phenomenal and extremely friendly! Don't be discouraged by the long line, they move super fast and food comes quick! It's worth the wait! We will always support Spankys!

They appear to use a dusted/crushed salt as opposed to more course traditional fine table salt. The dusted approach has the entire fry surface covered but never at the expense of being over salted.
