Driving thru from Raleigh back to Mooresville jump on yelp to see what other bbq joints I could try in Lexington tap on Smiley's directions without opening anything up drive to building CLOSED for some time now. Hate to see that but heads up y'all it's CLOSED.

Always been a great place to eat, me and my roommate drove 4 hrs just to eat here the chopped BBQ plate, with BBQ slaw amazing, with hush puppies very good

February 26th 2022 is the last day for Smileys. Closing the doors forever. The food and service is really good there. Such a shame.

My husband and I came down and found smileys bbq it was very quaint and quiet but busy with to go orders the food was amazing and large portions even ordered the smoked chicken to take home wow we were so stuffed we literally had enough for three days definitely worth your time and money yum

This was tender bbq tho rather dry. Red slaw isn't very red. Don't have salt packets to go? Not very friendly here. Closing soon.

My buddy ate here and he’s dying on the toilet as I type this. It smells like he is passing the back half of a pig that has been sitting on the side of the road for two weeks in 98 degree weather with a heat index of 130 after it was lived in by a family of opossums. The food wasn’t even that great. 30 dollars for a plate of bbq and some hushpuppies. Sauce was okay which is why there’s two stars because you can’t sleep on a good sauce. But the bbq tastes and feels like it was smoked and then frozen two weeks ago. Stay away from here unless you need to fumigate your house. 2/5 stars this place did not make us smile. Unless you count the smiles from the muscle straining from passing this “food.”

Poor customer service. I myself work in the customer service field and have done so for many years. I had a rather large party to feed (10 adults and 1 child to be exact) before I placed my order I called in to ask the number of people their party pack would feed and was told each pound serves about 6 to 8 sandwiches. I told the lady that would be plenty so again I repeated again that I wanted a party pack along with a large box of fries and hushpuppies and a few other small items. I drive 25 minutes back to my house to find that there was an error on the RESTAURANTS end and they had wrote down I ordered a 1 pound special (remind you I specifically told the lady I was feeding about 10 people and she told me it would make 6 to 8 sandwiches) I get back home and there is no where near enough to feed my guest so I call in to see what happened and I was told that I was only charged for a pound special so if I would like for them to get something more started they would but was hinting around to I would not only have to drive 25 minutes back have my guest wait even longer but still have to pay for there mess up and my inconvenience. And this was coming from the owner himself! Eextreamlly POOR customer service! The only thing positive I have to say is the young girl at the register which is the same one I spoke to on the phone when I called to complain was very nice.

Looking for some quality Lexington BBQ well you found it as this spot is solid. It provides what you are looking for. Pulled and chopped bbq, slap on a bun with with some some slaw and most important do not forget the sauce. Side of hush puppies and you have a go to meal. They will even bring out the que to your car. I thought it was very enjoyable and you cant go wrong here.

Very good pit cooked bbq and good portion sizes. Wait staff is amazing and friendly. To the one's who say speedy's bbq is better....well some of us prefer authentic pit cooked bbq that is actually cooked in a pit like Smiley's Lexington Bbq and some prefer speedy's rotisserie fake smoked bbq. To each their own.So if you want authentic pit cooked bbq give Smiley's Lexington Bbq a try and you won't regret it!

The course chopped BBQ is really delicious always get it in a quart some white slaw cheerwine and hush puppies can't be :-).
Deep fried bologna with pimento cheese with a strawberries and cream milkshake!! The service was excellent, waitress was super friendly and attentive! We came in really late, not long before closing, and they were still so great to us!

Simple place. Nice BBQ (including chicken bbq). Efficient staff.
