Vegetarian options: I found it a bit salty but try for yourself. Clam chowder was fresh, but again salty

The food and service was.. ok, the restaurant smelled, bathrooms were gross. The location needs to be cleaned, and updated. Hopefully the GM will take this feedback and improve the cleanliness of the location. The place just looks beat up and in desperate need of repairs.

I live 5 minutes from this restaurant since 06/10/2023 and have come to The Pointe during peak season. It were ok at that time. People complain about the price but seafood especially on a water view restaurant isn’t cheap. Not anywhere in the entire country. Please name a decent place if I’m wrong. Today 12/08/2023 at 8:45pm exactly my brother and I had ordered The Pointe Tacos and the Chimichanga Steak Wrap knowing it were 15 minutes before they were about to close the kitchen and probably had already cleaned everything, both meals were exceptionally good. I thank the chef at that exact date and time. I apologize that we came in so late but both of those meals proved that you put your effort into them. Your chef needs a raise!

Took a while to get someone to acknowledge our table….i went and got the menus myself then another 15 minutes to take our drink order of which we received shortly after…then another 20 minutes to take our order…was 3pm on 11/7/23 ??‍♀️ don’t know what was going on there but it wasn’t a typical interaction looking at the 5 times we’ve visited

My husband and I came here bc Watersview happened to be closed. We were out for an anniversary dinner, so we were way overdressed for this spot, which is fine in general, but I've been wondering if our treatment had anything to do with the fact that we were overdressed. We knew that we weren't going to get the experience we would have gotten at Watersview, this place has a fun vibe for sure, and very beach bar attire and menu, etc. So while we were disappointed that we couldn't go to the restaurant we planned on, we quickly shook that disappointment off and we're excited to try The Pointe, cause we'd never been there before. We were seated in the outdoor space which was decorated with fun colored furniture, and is a fun set up with TV's on the wall. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we were greeted, or given menus. When we were finally handed menus the waitress looked at us like she was ready for us to order right away. We asked for a few minutes. Within about 3 minutes we'd figured out what we were gonna order, drinks, apps and meal... A large group walked in, was sat, handed menus, and then the waitress immediately started chatting with them and taking their drink orders. She did not come back to our table after putting in their drinks at the POS. It's a small room, we could see everything. Another 5 minutes went by before my husband had to actually get up and tell her we were ready to order. After we put in our order, our drinks and food came out rather quickly (delivered by a food runner, so we didn't see the waitress, just as context for the rest of the story) The espresso martini was really strong. Not balanced at all. The water, tasted like it had come straight from the lake, so I might suggest to the restaurant to look into this. The rockfish bites were good. My husband ordered the steak, medium rare. When it came, it was mostly medium well, with almost a medium pink in the very very middle. The steak had a clear knife cut where it was clear the chef had cut into it to check the temperature. Whether it was MR when they cut into it and dried out/ cooked to a higher temperature before it was delivered, I'm not sure. But it certainly was not delivered to our table MR. I ordered the pulled pork, it was very dry, which is disappointing bc the bit of flavor that was there was really good, but it needed more sauce, which I would have asked for, but...We never saw our waitress again until once again, my husband had to flag her down to ask for the check. She dropped the check, went to check on her other tables (which she never did for us), then proceeded to go back to the server station and check her phone. It took us literally 2 seconds to put our card in the check fold when she dropped it. Finally after a couple minutes, of watching her on her phone, my husband once again got up and dropped the check in front of her.We wanted to leave no tip at all, not bc of the food, not bc of the drinks, which is not the waitresses fault, but bc of her absolute lack of service. You tip for service, we got none. My husband had to get up from the table so that we could, order, get our check, and then pay it.It felt personal, and I'm so unclear as to why, bc we were kind, personable, etc. At least until we never saw her again after the food came. We did end up leaving a tip. My husband is a GM at a restaurant, and I've worked in restaurants as well, but it was begrudgingly for sure. This was hands down the worst experience we've had in a very long time. Honestly, I never leave these kinds of reviews, I try very hard to only leave positive reviews, or no review at all. But after a week, it's still really bothering me.It seemed really obvious that the staff knew a lot of the guests, they seemed chatty and connected with them. But as a couple that was overdressed, and did not know the staff, we were treated like outsiders. We could have overlooked the not so great food, if the service was attentive. It was just over and over a really bad experience.

Took my wife here for our anniversary, mostly because all the other restaurants are closed on Tuesday. Prices were higher than we expected, but being in a touristy area, I could get over that. The service was decent, but the food was really not good. We started with a rockfish bites app, but it was dry and overly fishy, so we didn’t eat it. My wife got steak and fried clams. The steak was half gristle and overcooked, and the clams were chewy and burnt. I ordered catfish and shrimp but what I got was obviously flounder. It must’ve been fried from frozen because it was very mushy, and the shrimp were over cooked and tough. All in we spent $130 for 2 with a couple drinks. I would definitely not return. The only thing it has going for it is a lake view, but it’s only visible if you sit on the deck and it was uncomfortably hot.

Used to be a great place. For years we visited with a large family a few times per season but it has continually gone downhill in all aspects. The calamari was 90% breaded banana peppers. Our fish and chips was pitiful, we paid extra for better fish….stupid $18. Unfortunately we will never return and will take our business to Watersview. Very disappointing!
