We found Hook & Anchor while traveling home through the area. What a great find!It was a Saturday evening with a steady crowd of customers. We were seated promptly and had our food within 10-12 minutes. We each had fried popcorn shrimp and flounder(the 2 seafood staples in NC). Excellent flavor and cooked perfectly. The batter on the flounder was out of this world! We will definitely return when we are in the area again.

My husband and I went came to Charlotte for our 28th anniversary, we ran across this restaurant and ate there 2 days. Such great food and workers. I don't know the name of the first witness we had the first day, but she was light skinned and red hair. She was a very good server. The second day, we had Taylor Le. She was also a great server. Very kind and made us laugh.

Was one of the worst meals I ever had will not be back or recommend to any others. Hunks of cabbage in slaw baked sweet potato left over from day before and just warmed up tinny pieces of fish 3 of them not amount to one piece at most places something burnt beyond knowing what it once was tarter sauce so runny driped off fish like water huspuppies the size of grapes everything so bad never will I go there again !!!!!!!!!!
This place use to be so good not anymore. The other table beside us didn't like the food either and talked about how down hill this restaurant has went lately.

While the decor is dated this is an old school family night out with great seafood and absolutely amazing menu and daily specials.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out but bathrooms are tight.

It gives me no joy to write a one star review for a local business but I'm hoping it will save others from trips to the ER. We had to take my mom to the emergency room after she ate chicken, broccoli and a sweet potato here and was vomiting for almost 48 hours thereafter. The ER doctor confirmed she had food poisoning. Of course my family will never dine here again which is a shame because the service was good and the waitresses were really sweet. Seems like management doesn't care based on their lack of response to several other negative reviews here.
