Our office wanted to give the new owners a chance, since Dorian's has been a staple in Matthews for many years and we ordered and enjoyed lunch at least once (often twice)per week. Paul and Mary left big shoes to fill! Our last order was disappointing, as it included salads and Paul's chips with ranch--the dressing was left completely out of the bag, and when called, they blamed us for not checking it before leaving. The potato chips are still good, but the prices increased too high immediately when the restaurant changed hands. Value was one of the best part of the Dorian's experience, and generated repeat weekly business. Blaming a customer when they failed to include dressing for a salad is shocking. Sadly, we'll be going elsewhere.

Super bummed. Dorians has been our go to Saturday lunch place for years. We ordered lunch on Saturday like normal, but it was anything but. The prices doubled (which I would usually have no problem with) and the food was nothing like usual. We usually get burgers and the burgers were smaller with different patties and unfortunately really dry. I crave their chips and ranch, but the ranch was completely different then the ranch I fell in love with. Sad to say we will have to find another place for Saturday lunch now.

Dorian's is under new ownership. The menu is different, people are different. My fish sandwich was very good. They have different French Fries that aren't my favorite. I ordered a Togo and they don't have menus Togo yet. I don't really know what they offer. I will miss old Dorian's. Everything that made it great is gone.

We were really looking forward to trying this place but were very disappointed. My husband got a salami sub and I got a turkey sub. Talk about bland. Seriously dry bread with one slice of tomato and a piece of lettuce. The meat was the quality that you'd get at any subpar grocery store deli. I specifically asked for no mayo and there was lots on both sides of the bread. Only redeeming thing about this place was the crunchiness of the homemade chips. They were good but had zero seasoning or salt on them. If ya can't tell, we won't be back.

I just moved to this area and went here for lunch. We had a gyro with homemade chips. It was delicious and definitely get the homemade chips as your side item. The place was clean and service was great. We have already gone back a few times.
Dorian’s in Matthews treats you like family. Their Roast Beef Sandwich is stacked high with rare roast beef that is roasted in-house. Between the home cooking by Chef Paul and the personal service from Anna & Mary, this is a rare treat restaurant that makes you feel right at home.

What a hidden gem!! Husband found on Google maps and we decided to give it a try. The potato soup is so amazing, oh my!! The staff were super sweet and we got to sample the homemade chips, so so good! I highly recommend stopping in for a bite. You won’t regret it ?
