The pizza was pretty underwhelming and if we come back we wouldn’t order pizza again… which isn’t a great sign since it’s a pizza place. Very dry crust that none of us ate, not sure if we got an over cooked pizza or what. Love the outside seating area and the nachos were awesome.

Greeted by nearly everyone in the front of the house when we entered. Our waitress was friendly. Only took about 15 minutes to get our food. Mozzarella sticks were hot and pizza was good. Friendly staff with decent prices. Overall a good, quick eat.

Terrible. We were there last night for a birthday dinner with seven people. It took us over 12 minutes to be greeted at our table by the time we got drinks to the table we had already been in the restaurant for over 25 minutes. My daughters food both her appetizer and main entrée were not rang in, so she never received food. Our server disappeared. The manager was at the table more than a handful of times, and didn’t seem to be bothered that we were having such a terrible experience. By the time the bill came, there was no kind of compensation which was mind blowing. Considering he had been at the table so many times, and we had so many issues with service and drinks and food, and the fact that my daughters food blatantly was never rang in or brought out shows an extreme lack of respect for the customer. This was our first and last time here.

I come to the Matthews location every Tuesday evening with my kids and the service is always wonderful. We always ask to be seated in Brianna’s section because she is very attentive and very personable with my kids. She’s a really good waitress and she hustles around that floor to make sure everybody has their food when it’s hot she always keeps our drinks refilled she is the reason that we continue to come to this location.

But after today, I just had to.We absolutely love all the servers who ever have served us here, and today one of them (Libby) recommended to me to try the vegan cheese option for the pizza due to me needing to be dairy free. I was apprehensive to try it because I've had terrible vegan cheese before, but she highly recommended it and said she even liked it. So, I tried it...and was blown away. At first bite, I was trying to figure out if this was real dairy cheese or not (and if the crust was indeed GF)...because I just could not tell the difference at all in taste or texture.One of the primary reasons we keep coming back is due to the ability to order GF/Dairy-free options at a reasonable price, and today I was absolutely blown away by the quality options now fully available. Up until now, I only ordered goat cheese as an alternative for dairy cheese...but I am not limited to just this option anymore, and I am so thankful.In turn, she actually brought me a package of the cheese they use - and I was able to see the ingredients (which are minimally processed), and see who made the product. I am amazed. Finally, a vegan cheese option that actually tastes like cheese...and it's not a huge list of products that can't be pronounced!This is not the only time servers have gone above and beyond here, it is a frequent encounter for us - and we love being regular patrons of the Matthews Pizza Peel!Thank you all for always providing great food, service, and a fun atmosphere for the whole family!Dietary restrictions: Gluten Free and Dairy Free options available for a minimum upcharge. We had a positive experience at Pizza Peel overall. The decor was simple but attractive, the radio wasn’t too loud, and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. They let you get samples of beers to taste and there were several to choose from. The pizza is thin crust and a little too thin and crispy for my taste (maybe it was baked a bit too long?). But the sauce was really flavorful. The price was reasonable also. We would go back again.

This was the first time that I actually did not have the best time at Pizza Peel. I was with one of my friends and we decided to eat here.Here are the positives: the food was delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the staff was friendly.Here are the negatives:1: Our waitress was nice most of the time; however, I don’t believe she has the full experience of becoming a proper waitress. To me, I think she needs more training. She did not check on us often, she gave us our food but gave us no napkins and silverware (until I got her attention), she at times just stood around and did nothing, and gave us our checks before we told her that we wanted desert. Also, she was with a male waitress at times and I guess she needed assistance in case she didn’t know what to do. Also, when she gave us our checks when we’re done, she just walked off and not said anything like “hope you enjoy the rest of your evening”. The only waitress I noticed that looked helpful and was on point was a white gentlemen in a black shirt.2: The place was not the cleanest. Our table was not properly cleaned, there was some trash around the floor, my friend and I sat in a booth and part of the booth was torn, and I even saw a cockroach crawling around close to our booth.3: We we’re in Pizza Peel for about 2 hours and the place was not full. I don’t know if there was a shortage on staff. There was a large birthday party that occurred outside, but I don’t know if it got the waitresses more attention on them and not the other customers. Our pizzas took about 20 minutes, which was not bad, but our dessert (shared one dessert) took 30+ minutes to get to our table. Maybe the restaurant didn’t need many employees because it was on a Wednesday, but I’m not certain.This is just my opinion of my experience today. Maybe its just one of those times where I got unlucky that the experience was not the greatest. Some people however may like this environment. If your looking for a typical (nothing fancy) pizza restaurant, this maybe a place for you if you don’t care about the environment. I think I may come back in the future, but after today, it might be awhile.

After being seated, we were given a regular menu, ordered our drinks (which took forever). We ordered appetizers and we were ready to give our order, we were ordering pizza (remember this is a pizza place). We were told by the server that no pizzas were being made and the only thing available this evening was one appetizer (knots), salads, and wings. Our big question of the day was: Why weren't we told this when we first entered and before we ordered anything? Unbelievable!

Picked the place a bit at random while out shopping, and glad I did! I had the side house salad and updyke pizza. Both were delicious. The salad had blue cheese, raisins and nuts along with the usual veggies and was generous and tasty. The pizza was really good, too. Great beer selection. I'll go back on another visit.

Love the BBQ Chicken pizza and the wings. A lot left to be desired in the pep and sausage pizza. Toppings were scarce, and it was just average pizza. The BBQ pizza on the other hand, sets them apart. I would definitely recommend everyone try at least once.

I have had mixed results here. my last visit I was served a pizza that was so burned the bottom was black. I wish I had sent it back but we were starving. The prior visit the pizza was great and so was the service. Good beer selection, nice place to people watch.

Food is pretty good staff is not! Waiters are slow and forget about you. Waited over 20mins for our waiter to come back and take our order.thought the place was family friendly one of the waitresses pants didn't fit her probably so she was walking around with her underwear showing.

I’ve been here once before and the pizza was incredible. The service was great too. However tonight was super disappointing. I don’t know if they got a new cook but the pizza was literally dripping in grease, it was so gross. Our server was inattentive as well. He walked past us multiple times, greeted two other tables (who sat down after us), took other orders, and then finally decided to help us. It took 15 minutes to get our drinks (which I normally wouldn’t mind *but* it wasn’t busy at all). He also never checked on us again after taking our entree orders. He walked past us multiple times again and made eye contact but would not come talk to us. When we waved him down he seemed annoyed. Extremely poor service. Will not be returning. I recommend Seaboard over this place.
