“I reserved a table to enjoy high tea a few days before Christmas. Plenty of free parking and easy access to the entrance. Festive decorations adorned the historic house and beautiful instrumental seasonal music played softly. At the table, I was provided a list of teas to choose from and a menu of what would be served for the high tea. Staff was cheerful, pleasant and knowledgeable of the flavors offered. Everything from the scones to the sandwiches to the desserts were handmade with the freshest ingredients. I was impressed with the flavor of the plum-apricot jam. The white chocolate, citrus and pistachio bark was my favorite of the dessert offerings. As I had chosen to dine alone, I enjoyed the warm holiday ambiance, the low chatter from neighboring table guests and soft music as I read selections of Christmas poetry on my phone. It was a delightful way to mark my 55th birthday.“
“I've been going to this Walmart for years, and my only complaint is that sometimes they're out of very common items. For the most part, their staff is friendly and the place stays pretty clean, especially the bathrooms. I've had to make returns, exchanges, and had issues with gift cards and the process is always very easy. Sometimes you have to wait a while in the customer service line, but they always take care of the issues in a timely manner. Overall, it's a pretty good location!“
“I have always wanted to try this upscale bakery in downtown Mocksville. I recently had the chance to meet its newest owner and thought I'd give it a try. As I suddenly realized I did not have a birthday cake for my husband's birthday. The store itself is cute with bakèry themed items and a display filled with tempting treats. As I waited for writing on my cake, I viewed the cards, and the first card I picked had a dead fly stuck inside it! At first, I thought it was a punch line. I didn't get it, but it was not.I was then called to pick up my cake and asked to view the writing on it, and was a little disappointed. Regardless, I brought the cake to the dinner celebration, and it was enjoyed by all who found it moist and delicious. I did not enjoy the frosting myself. But the cake was quickly eaten and another year was celebrated. Overall, I would purchase some of the items in the store. But maybe go for more of the display treats next time.“
“On 3/6/24 I ordered a pound cake for my sister. The young woman who took my order was very nice and asked all the right questions. My sister likes her cake a little crispy around the edges, so she made sure to double check with the bakers to get that approved. When I arrived on 3/8/24 to pick it up it had icing/glaze on top. I told the young woman at the counter I specified no toppings when I placed the order. She apologized and said they could have another cake ready in 24 hours. The next day (3/9/24) when I went back to pick up the new cake it looked perfect! As soon as I got home we all dug in, which is why I unfortunately do not have any photos. My sister raved about it. She said it had the prefect crunch. Not only was the pound cake exceptional, but the service was too. The staff really went above and beyond by making a replacement cake with a 24 turnaround. 10/10 recommend this bakery!!“
“Truly a hidden gem in Mocksville. Recently found out this place was basically a stones throw away from work and I decided to check it out. It's a very small shop, decent little selection of personal sized cheesecakes. I got an original and caramel topped. My god, it was the lightest, fluffiest, best cheesecake I've ever had. I'm not sure how busy he is down there but If you haven't tried it, you need to, so we can make sure he sticks around. I will be back, very soon, likely ordering full size cheese cakes in the future, it's really that good!!!“
