We have been here several times and the food is pretty good. I have to say that the hostess has the personality of a wet dish rag and never smiles or Mr engages. Not a good first impression when one walks in the door!

Always friendly staff. I had a Greek salad with grilled salmon & it was delicious! My partner had hamburger steak, black-eyed peas, and mashed potatoes. She always gets that and enjoys it every time!
Been there times and all were excellent. The food has been delicious and consistent along with excellent service and a clean atmosphere makes it perfect for everyone. Oh and the portions are big enough to share and the prices you can’t beat . I recommend the Derby to

Quiet spot with booths and tables, delicious food and nice folks. Pay at the front after your meal. Pulled pork had plenty of sauce, stewed okra and rice w/ gravy rocked. Came with cornbread that was soft and well made as well as a couple of hush puppies. Prices were good too.

I enjoyed an early dinner Friday night with my parents. I like family owned restaurants and this one still has a touch of old school which I totally love! Plus I was able to order a glass of wine and the food with excellent as it has been the few times I've come for lunch this year. I don't live in Monroe. It looks like they've recovered from any past problems and I could not be more happy for them and the locals who get to dine there regularly! I also enjoy a restaurant with a parking lot instead of street parking hassles. The service was excellent. The owner was on site and very kind. Way to go Derby!
