A fun blast from the past spot to grab a bite in downtown Mount Airy. It's nothing fancy but we wanted lunch so we got a burger and sandwich. My burger was good. Nothing special but I didn't expect it. Frozen patty was good size and it's served with onion, lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo. It was hot and fresh. My husband liked his sandwich a lot. He added lettuce and tomato, which we recommend because otherwise it's a little light on the meat and may not satisfy your appetite. The fries were the frozen crinkle cut variety but were crispy, hot and fresh. The star of this place are the hand mixed sodas. You could get any combo you want and I bet they would all be really good. This is a great option that's not available many places so we definitely took advantage of that. I chose an orange pineapple soda. My husband wanted a sasparilla but they were out so he ordered a fresh orangeade instead. His was really good too but we both liked mine better. Some other customers ordered milkshakes that looked amazing! I'll have to try those next time for sure. The service was really friendly and fast. It's a true mom and pop place. We had a great lunch and enjoyed the conversation from the owners too!

Can't beat one of our favorites in our hometown. Atmosphere, staff and 'diner food' are tops!

Mayberry's best milkshakes. Nice quaint little place. There is a lot of memorabilia for Andy Griffith. The employees are very nice and will joke around with the customers. This is a must goto place if you visit Mt Airy NC. Lots of flavors to choose from. For sodas and milkshakes. If you are in the area stop by for a geat adventure.

My husband and I went here to get a Sundae. What a JOKE! We asked for a hot fudge Sundae and got 1 scoop of ice cream in this big Sundae dish and the hot fudge came out of a foil packet that was heated up in the microwave!!!! I sat at the counter and watched the lady make our Sundae. I was appalled!! This "fake" hot fudge Sundae costs us $8.00! Very disappointed.

We were visiting "Mayberry" aka Mt. Arie and done our Andy Griffith tours and sightseeing and worked up an appetite. We asked a salesperson in an antique store where we could get lunch and they said if we wanted burgers or hotdogs Walkers was where we should go. We were seated right away and our server was super nice and was in the ball. She got our food and our burgers were cooked as ordered and they were hot and our fries were nice and crisp and they kept our tea full. We didn't get a shake but others ordered and they looked amazing! Give them a try! It's very yummy!

The Carolina Cheese Burger cannot be beat and the fries are perfect - crisp on the outside and tender inside. And the staff is absolutely top notch. You won't be disappointed!

This place looks like it is from the set of The Andy Griffith show. It is a nice retro diner. The hot dogs were decent and a friend had the Barbecue. None of it was special really, but the Trump signs everywhere made us feel like we didn't belong.

We thought it was a true Soda Fountain and very disappointed. Nothing special about the ice cream itself. I could not find an "Old Fashion Chocolate Soda" on menu. Server did not know what I was talking about and offered a cola soda with a scoop of ice cream. So, I ordered a butterscotch sundae to bring back childhood memories and I received an over $8.00 sundae with butterscotch flavoring that you put in a coffee drink. So sweet that I had eat the ice cream around the flavoring liquid. Very sad experience if you expect it to be an old fashion soda shop.

The best malted I ever had- as the owner told me!! Suoer super good- thick, delicious, old skool. I tried a new cheese (pimento) which was tasty and they put it on my also tasty burger. The space is obviously an old drugstire- that's fun, with a working weight machine in the back near some NIB vintage soda shoppe Barbies. But-- -Have to knock a pint because politics were displayed- made us uncomfortable and, frankly, not needed. My opinion- keep your personal politics out of your cute place.

An old time soda fountain located on main st in downtown Mount Airy, aka Mayberry Rfd. They serve hot dogs, burgers and sandwiches along with milk shakes and ice cream. Very quaint looking. Hubby needed his milk shake fix and loved that they gave him the extra in the cup it was made in. A popular place with friendly service.
