My husband & I were visiting New Bern from Chapel Hill, and decided to go to breakfast here. The owner was very attentive & told us how it worked. We poured our own coffee than ordered from menu to him & he told us to sit anywhere. The music was soft Jazz, the food was fresh. We both had the same omelet. It was the Greek. We both are Vegetarian. It came with a fresh fruit cup, toast & real potatoes. We were in Heaven. Pleasant, quiet . We went back a second time & ordered the exact meal. It was 7:00am when we went both times. I think they open at 6:30.

Ordered from them on DoorDash and this is the broccoli ginger salad they gave me, they clearly were aware they were giving me spoiled broccoli and just didn’t care! There is no excuse for that, it’s extremely disgusting.

Before you read this, let me point out to you that Yelp is not nearly so kind as the current 4.1 rating and I'd also check that out before ordering here.My wife who is going to get hip replacement surgery soon recently got food delivered from this establishment. She had three or four deliveries and was initially very pleased. However, this last experience was so overwhelmingly disgusting (and unsanitary) , we're never going back and I have to give this establishment a "one" star rating.Today my wife ordered a salmon salad for lunch. There were specific instruction to cook the salmon “well done.” The salmon was delivered raw, contaminating the whole salad so she couldn’t salvage any any of it.The owner/manager’s response was to tell her to stick it in the microwave for a second or two. After my wife pushed back, she was told it could be remade if she could come pick it up. She said she couldn't and no offer for a refund was made.My wife had to turn around and re-order from Country Biscuit for delivery. She's probably eaten there well over a hundred times and never had any issues with undercooked/raw meat. Go to Country Biscuit and not this establishment.Later in the day when I called and spoke to the owner/manager to express my concern with my wife’s service, he seemed indifferent to the complaint. I think he only partially understood how egregious serving raw fish was once I made the analogy of how Gordon Ramsey deals with this stuff, as he eventually only gave a half-hearted apology.

My chicken salad croissant was so small ... just 2 bites and not much chicken salad. My husband's Cuban was pitiful with only a few small slices of meat.
NE Clam Chowder was served lukewarm. Tasty but not warm enough.

Food is fine. They close at 4 but if you go in after 1, the worker will throw a fit about it. He will roll his eyes and slam things around. I guess they are start cleaning and do not want anymore customers after 1. I only go in early, will not go after noon again.

We wanted to give this place a try for awhile. We were a little disappointed having gone about brunch-time. The regular coffee was out for most of the meal and the meals were average.

I was disappointed with the Mediterranean salad, the chicken was extremely dry and it was hard to find the feta cheese which were supposedly mixed in with the bowtie pasta which were few and far between..Expressed concern with my salad and employee became very defensive, didnt really care that I was dissatisfied.Needless to say, I wont be returning.
