Very good brunch! Quality service and a warm ambiance. There arnt many quality seafood places in town but this is definitely one of them. I will be back! Their clam chowder really knocks it out of the park! I got the crab benedict and the taste was amazing although portion sizes seemed small and my eggs were definitely over cooked.

Shrimp and grits did not disappoint. Plentiful and tasteful. The service was good and the ambiance was fair. Pasta dishes both had sauce and were not dry. Hush puppies delicious!

Our waiter - amazing. Food- AMAZING!!! I ordered the lobster/shrimp risotto bowl, and to start we had okra and calamari. Dessert was blueberry cobbler and crème brûlée. The creme brûlée was better in my opinion. Loved the whole experience though. Can't wait to go back!

Ordered the smoked salmon alfredo, which is salmon patties with penne. The first bite I could tell something was off. I did have a few more bites and asked my partner to try it. It was like they tried to cover the funky taste with seasoning. It didn’t work… I opened it up and it had these grey slimy things in it. I opened up the second one and it looked normal and tasted normal. So the first patty was rotten! I ended up getting sick. This is the third(And the worst!) time I’ve had their food. Never going back. I do not recommend!

The food was delish, but the cole slaw is a toss out. Opt for a better side!Kid-friendliness: Our kiddo was immediately greeted and offered a booster or a high chair. Def kid friendly!

My shrimp platter wa excellent. Large serving and lightly fried. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would recommend Cafe Fear Seafood to my friends.

We sat at the bar and still got great service. Fancy seafood that didn't break the bank.

Lunch with Beer Battered Tacos and a Shrimp Basket. Specifically asked for flour tortillas, given corn tortillas. Giant pieces of fish laid on corn tortillas does not a fish taco make. Corn and bean salad hidden in an enormous amount of shredded lettuce was pointless. Just ate the fish by it self. The hush puppies were good. The fried shrimp was way over salted, the slaw was good. Service was indifferent. No follow up to see if orders were correct or needed anything else. No ambiance to speak of. Would not wait to get in here on a busy night.

Three of us had dinner at Cape Fear yesterday, and I was very disappointed. I had Lemon Pepper Sea Scallops with lemon beurre blanc. They were the smallest sea scallops I've ever seen, over-cooked and over-seasoned with salt and lemon. I paid far too much for them--and was foolish enough to pay an extra $4.95 for a miniscule side salad that was largely lettuce. My brother had a so-so (and oddly dark-colored) clam chowder and fairly good shrimp and grits. My niece had crab cakes, which she enjoyed. I liked this restaurant when it first opened in the Village, but lately the quality has fallen off. I won't go back.

I was so impressed with the food there. It was hot and fresh. I had the smoked salmon and pasta. You could smell and taste the smokiness. The service was very good. Staff all thanked you for coming. It wasn't very busy for the time of day that we went, so seating us was quick. I was so full that I could not even consider the desert. This was a great spot. Will be visiting again in the near future.

Dinner around 6p on a rainy Saturday and the restaurant was crowded. There were 8 of us so we would have a long wait for a table. So there was space for all of us at the bar...so bar it was! The two wait staff were very friendly and started on our beverages quickly. Then we were ready to order after about 15 minutes. Actually sitting there was fun and pretty comfortable. I had the shrimp and grits. It had a good seasoned flavor and reasonable amount of medium size shrimp but not enough grits for me. It was probably about one fourth cup of grits and all these shrimp and sauce. I'm used to the grits at least covering the bottom of the bowl.of course I ate all the grits and had leftover shrimp. I enjoyed the flavor. Everyone else raves about their meals taste and portion size. Anyway I've eaten at both Raleigh locations several times and will go back.
