Service started out great, but slowly dwindled. It was getting dark and chilly, but the manager decided to turn off the heater without asking. She was more concerned with putting plates on tables than grabbing a pitcher and filling up water or helping the ONE server. I didn't even get the chance to order a second drink and my water was empty for most of the meal. The carne asada was so tough - told the server and he brought free churros, but no water. I'll come back, but I would suggest giving the manager a run down on service and not give the server as many tables. If he has that many, the manager should be out there helping GUESTS, not setting empty tables (silverware was still missing).

It was a fabulous dinner. We had the snapper ceviche, grilled romaine Caesar salad, shrimp tacos and delicious churros for dessert. The bread and weed butter was amazing, too! We'll definitely be back!

The food was amazing. I had the swordfish and my husband had the hanger steak. Both were cooked to perfection. The Rum cake for dessert was delicious. Great service and atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Thanks again!

I was at Cuya at the brunch. The ONLY SAVE from this experience was from DJ Byrdie. She was Awesome. And from the gentleman who gave out the ?. He was trying to assist customers. The other events of the evening were poorly planned and unaccommodating. They should add a better description of the event .Parking: The parking was $3 hour.Kid-friendliness: It was not very friendly to everyone. I wanted to get a picture taken and the person taken the pictures asked everyone around our take but not my friend and myself. So we did not ask him either.Wheelchair accessibility: The event was upstairs and I did not see an elevator for wheelchair accessible.

Oysters were very fresh, great flavor. The Italian style mussels were a thing from the old country, the flavor top notch. The service 10+, the beautiful waitress Deanna was so pleasant and helpful. Thank you for the nice evening

Ambiance was lower because we sat outside under a plastic tent. It just wasn't that great. The patio is definitely better in the summer. Inside was awesome though when I walked through!

Our core sounder oysters were really good and a bonus at the happy hour price. The snapper ceviche is my absolute favorite dish in the Triangle. And as always, our bartender Nick was the best! He's super knowledgeable, friendly, and always fun to talk to. We will be back soon.

This is a nice place to visit they have pretty good music and good drinks, i think drinks are overpriced a little bit (again my personal opinion) but it is a good place to be with some friends. I don't have pics to post.

Dinner at Cortez was delicious as per usual! My partner and I had oysters swordfish, Gumbus, and hanger steak, which were all expertly prepared. Our cocktails were also fantastic! I recommend the “black widow”, and the “like a G6”.

Incredible meal at Cortez - we had the bread/weed butter (not what you're thinking ? but SO delicious), the chowder fries (a daily special), shrimp tacos, and the mixed vegetables side, and it was all phenomenal. The mixed veg in particular were exquisite - I really respect a kitchen that puts as much effort into a side dish as they do their priciest main. Cocktails were excellent too. All around A+++

Another fantastic meal at Cortez. The food is exceptional, great for sharing and good value. Service was terrific. Our server was knowledgeable about the cocktails and food. His recommendations were spot on. 2 of us shared the shrimp tacos, charred romaine ceasar salad and the shrimp with garlic which was one of the best I've tasted. We were stuffed with all the food and their delicious bread. Highly recommend.

This is my favorite restaurant in downtown Raleigh. The oysters are amazing if you get them dressed up. I have always enjoyed the things that are made in the creative takes that the chefs use on these dishes.

We made a reservation for outside seating which I'm totally fine with but then I was sat next to the AC unit and gas tanks on some crappy lawn chair. I ask to sit by the bar and we were moved but no one ever asked why we decided to move. Clearly the restaurant can afford better outdoor seating since it charges $15 for a poorly made cocktail

With all the rave reviews I was skeptical, but we really enjoyed our experience. In Raleigh, higher-end dining usually isn't worth the price tag. Cortez exceeds expectations and delivers a meal WAY above the price point. Loved our date here and can't wait to go back!
