Right when you walk inside this place makes an impression! It looks like Arizona dering Día de los Muertos, it feels like a dead man's party. The regular salsa is refreshing and I can never stop dipping in it. The food is so good, like the arroz con pollo, which is just like half a seasoned chicken instead of dry white meat. The enchiladas de puebla are also great. My favorite by far is the carnitas, you can't find anything like it on this side of the country. The pork is braised in beer and is just magical. And yes there is a train, and yes everyone loves it. The wait can be very very long on the weekends, but the staff are always very friendly so I never mind too much. It's not too expensive so I think it's honestly the best restaurant in Raleigh for families! They also help promote small business sometimes, like they used to sell really good chocolate for this Columbine guy. Anyway, this place is good and you must go or ELSE! Last thing, I think the restaurant has changed hands because it has gotten way better in the last couple years.Parking: The parking is actually pretty iffy. It gets packed to the point of no spots, but you can just go park in the shopping center.Kid-friendliness: There is a bar but it's mostly split from the tables. Side note, the tortillas are really good ?

Went here for my nephews 10th birthday. Made reservations online the day before. Reservation app was super easy to use. You do have to put a debit/credit card down to make one. (It's a 10$ fee they'll charge if you miss your reservation.) if you want to sit at one of the Train Tables . I recommend making an appointment ahead of time. They opened promptly at 4pm on Saturday. Lots of metal art , colorful paint and even a chicken coop on site to enjoy while you wait. They already had a huge line of people waiting for a table at 330. So it's busy busy busy. Understandable since every food blogger / foodie on instagram comes here for the food and atmosphere. lol Huge bar area. Lots of drinks and margarita options to choose from. Hostess and waitstaff were super friendly. Lemme start by saying since it was my nephews birthday I completely spaced on taking pictures of the actual food lol . Cheese Dips, Bean Dips and ChoriQueso dips were all super tasty. Since we reserved a train table, the dips came via Train! My nephew loves it. Super fun for us adults too. We also got the appetizers plates of tostones, maduros, chicharrones (fresh made pork rinds, they came out warm!) and yuca fries (came with a chipotle ranch). All delicious. For mains two of our party got the steak tacos which they seemed to enjoy. One person got the steak fajitas. She loved em. Shared most of her steak with my nephew My nephew got the quesadilla with beef. ( beef on the side. He got full on steak and didn't care for the beef. Beef was a little spicy and runny from the sauce it's cooked in for his liking) Another got the carnitas plate . Really good and flavorful carnitas. I got the Carne Asada plate. The 9oz of Carne asada was tender, juicy and was packed full of flavor. They marinate it for 48 hours I believe. It was the most expensive plate at 33$. ( definitely priced because of the flavor and preparation(worth it), cost of beef on the rise. Still Hurts a bit for what little meat you get.) next time I'd probably just get the carnitas or fajitas. Best thing on the menu to me was the cup of Pozzoli I got with my dinner plate. So flavorful. Meat super tender. Just outstanding. If you want a fun, colorful, delicious time with some tasty Mexican food. Give em a try! Reserve a Train table if you have kids. It's a blast. Since it was my nephews birthday they all sang to him and gave him a huge ice cream sundae for free! He loved it. Very nice touch. After he got his. 3 other tables got their birthday person ice cream too! Lots of singing by staff in a 20 min span. So cool

If you are here to leave anything less than 5 stars, you can kick rocks back to Taco Bell! This place, the food, the service is all amazing! We drove over an hour and we will definitely be coming back!Kid-friendliness: The servers are great with kids and the little train that brings you your dip is pretty cool.

I think people are drawn into this location for the deco. That's why we went. It is a very interesting set up between the chickens and the train that brings your guacamole or cheese dip. It got our attention and we were excited to try it. The 3.5 stars on Yelp though did set off some alarms that maybe this is a more frills and less substance place. Turns out that's the truth. It's an experience. Besides that, it's about it. The salsa is just okay. I ordered the chicken fajitas for $17, and it was about as bland as they come. Also, they put the rice on the fajita plate which I've never seen before. I couldn't eat it for almost 10 minutes without burning my tongue lol, but that's no big deal. Order guacamole so my son could see the train, which was 75% of the reason we went, haha. He loved the train, I did not love the guacamole. Anyways, to sum it up, I like the atmosphere, I just wish they had good food. There's a NC food blogger who trumps them up quite a bit. It's apparent now that they must pay her a lot. Lol.

After seeing an Instagram influencer consistently advertise this place, we decided to give it a try. Overall, this place is just okay. Pros: Decor is pretty wild and there's a lot to look at. It kept our son entertained. Staff was nice. They have chickens outside and the kids enjoyed watching them. There's a train that brings guacamole and cheese dip, that was cute. Most of the food was reasonably priced. Cons: We made a reservation and you need a credit card to do so. If you dont show up or cancel within 4 hours, you get charged $60!!! My brother and his wife went to a nice dinner overlooking Central Park in NYC and they only charge $25. $60 is insane! Got a margarita and it was fine. For a Mexican restaurant, it should have been great. We were a party of 6 and everyone's food was just eh. Only good thing was the yuca fries. Also, things definitely needed cleaning. Our table, the floor, and the menus were dirty, and we got there as soon as it opened. Some dishes were way overpriced. Parking lot is small. Overall, I'm surprised by how popular this place is. We won't be back.

We came here for my birthday! Such a cool little spot. You should definitely make a reservation though because we had reservations at 430 pm, got there at 405 pm, and there was already a 2 hr wait. We luckily had reservations for the train table. The food is really really good. When you go to a typical Mexican spot it's all the same kind of food. Little strips of chicken, etc... this was real grilled chicken breasts, cut up, and served and it was so delicious. The margaritas were really good too. The toy train delivered our queso dip and then our check at the end and was just a really fun touch. They are also known for the love chickens they have outside as pets! They lay eggs and you can get a free egg from the little fridge when you leave!

We had a lovely evening - great food and service. Restaurant has a really unique and fun vibe and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The staff was attentive and made great suggestions since we were first time diners. Please take the previous review from Tolga Akiner with a grain of salt. My family walked into the restaurant and witnessed this man as he was berating the hostess. His behavior was atrocious and borderline abusive. It’s no wonder they told him he would need to wait if he wanted another table. Personally I would have asked him to leave the minute he raised his voice and made a scene. The hostess was polite and professional given the situation. He provided a great lesson for my 12’year old son on how NOT to behave!
