My husband stumbled on Iris one day and we have been absolutely dedicated to this shop ever since. It is clear from the moment you walk in, that coffee is king and creativity key. The time and consideration they spend curating unique, high quality, experimental flavors is obvious from the moment you order to the last sip you take. They focus on quality over quantity, and execute that mission perfectly. We love sending people here who are dabbling in 3rd or 4th wave coffee or who are just curious about what that even means. Bryan has always been so good at explaining their process and his enthusiasm is contagious. Highly recommend trying their sandwiches as well! Love this place ❤️

Some people are working remotely, so it's a cafe that's easy to stop by by yourself! I ordered a cafe latte and a blueberry muffin. Drinks took a while to be served, but they were plentiful and delicious. All the employees were friendly and made me feel at home even though I'm not used to this area. The atmosphere of the shop is nice and has a stylish feel.

Coffee is fantastic but the quality of their staff has decreased significantly. What used to be a warm, welcoming atmosphere behind the counter, is now “What do you want” coupled with a dull, dead look in the eyes of the barista. This isn’t just a one-off occurrence, but every time i’ve been since around December.This is also a nitpick, but their seasonal latte’s have also been complete misses. Just overall not as great of a place as it used to be, which is such a shame. Lots of OG staff have left and the quality shows for it. Save your $7 and check out one of the dozens of other local coffee shops in downtown.

One of the cutest little "basement" coffee shops you could stop by in. It's a small space and doesn't really although for large groups but it's good for independent working sessions. Food takes awhile to arrive but the coffee is excellent. Do check this out!

The coffee was spectacular ? I loved the different flavor choices available. I didn't love my food, but maybe I just got something I wasn't in the mood for, the food selection overall looked delicious. I think I just chose poorly. I've only been here one time and I believe if I had picked different food I maybe would've rated higher.

Former fan of Iris Coffee Lab here! When I first started to come here, the staff was AMAZING. They are the whole reason I was a regular at an otherwise subpar coffee shop. From the awkward conversations that the owner has with his staff in front of customers, to the IKEA furniture, to the lack of consistency in pet policy, it seems like the only effort that is put into this place is in the overpriced food. After visiting various other coffee shops in the area, I can confidently say that the success of Iris is primarily due to its location. I am dedicated to supporting local businesses, so it truly breaks my heart to have to update my review. Hopefully, this place can turn things around.

I am visiting NC, and I do love coffee, not just any coffee, I always looking for the best coffee shops. We drove 30 min just for this coffee shop, bc I saw the beautiful machine and those cute mugs. I had a very bad day and wanted to cheer myself up by enjoying the delicious cappuccino. When we placed the order I repeated myself 3! Times . "For here" and I said out loud that I want to drink from those beautiful mugs. So we sat down and were waiting. And coffee arrived in to-go cups , and it made me extremely upset. Yes, coffee was delicious, but what upset me that , the staff didn't care to give me the option, they didn't warned me , "they ran out of cups and will I be ok to drink from to go cups?", especially after I said it clearly "FOR HERE" I love your cups so much . That means something to me!!! So just bc the staff didn't care , I will give this place 1 star.

Have been coming here very regularly over the last 8 months living in Raleigh. Staff is always friendly and conversational. Coffee is good and so are the breakfast bagels. Get there before 10am on Sat/Sun if you want to be in and out, however. Place usually gets very busy at this time, and rightfully so. Will miss Iris when I leave but will definitely visit when I come back.
