This is the best “third place” I’ve ever found. The krave customers are some of the nicest, most welcoming bunch I’ve ever come across. The bartenders make a point to remember your name, and they allow dogs! I often want to go somewhere just to get out of the house or to work on things, and while coffee shops are cool, sometimes I don’t want a stimulant (especially late). Next time you have homework, a work assignment, or just want somewhere new to try out/make new friends…go to krave!

I had the pineapple krush and it made me very sick for 6 hours after waking up the next day. I don’t think anyone should be drinking this stuff.

Ultimate chill place. I was greeted by the bartender every time in a quite personal fashion. He introduced himself then gave a brief explanation of the place and it's products. Kratom tea was tasty and gave a great mood and energy. I'm not sure how addictive this stuff is. I guess it's up there. The place hade a great vibe too, very relaxed it made me. I was there 3 times during my week long visit. Go easy with the heavy stuff, when I tried those, I was a little dizzy in the evening and the morning after.

I had a good experience here the first two times. I’ve always gotten the pineapple Krush. The first two times I was fine - the effects of the tea were really nice and it was the perfect potency. The third time I’m not sure what happened, maybe the drink was stronger than the other times? I drank it over 45 mins and ended up vomiting and sick for the rest of the day.

Great atmosphere and wonderful kava and teas! We love this place in Raleigh and Carrboro! All the staff are wonderful. Love to come here and chat with down to earth friends or work on my computer.

Great drinks and great vibe! All the employees are extremely knowledgeable on all of the drinks they serve. They give very thorough advice on what drink strength you should order based on your experience with plant drinks. It’s a great place to study, work or meet people.

TLDR: two customers got very ill after being served by this place, resulting in dizziness, confusion, nausea, and vomiting for over 6 hours.Myself and my two friends visited Krave Thursday, March 30th. All three of us have had kava and kratom multiple times. We all ordered the pineapple krush (which the manager later said is one of the “weaker” krush drinks) and sat down to drink our drinks. The drink was EXTREMELY powdery and not mixed at all, but we thought maybe this was normal for this place (although we had never seen plant powder pooled on the sides of a drink before). After finishing our drinks two of us began to feel very bad, including dizziness, nausea, and eventually throwing up. I drove us there, and having never had a problem driving after having one kava/krantom drink, thought I would be fine to drive after. I was not able to drive given I could barely walk in a straight line. The two of us continued to be extremely ill for the next 6+ hours, including chills, shakes, and endless vomiting even when the drink was gone from our system. The third person never vomited but felt slightly dizzy/nauseas for the remainder of the night. The facts:- The two of us who got ill had last eaten at 11:30 and 1:30 that day (we had kava at 5). Although we know it’s better to have on a full stomach, we’ve never had problems before and were going to get dinner after so we thought it would be fine.- The bartender later told us he was “unable to give his spiel” about the different plants because we said we had been to other kava places, however this is slightly untrue as he still took 5 minutes to walk us through the menu.- After we had been violently ill for 4+ hours all the manager said was “I hope they won’t hold this experience and let it prevent them from trying other plant drinks” - as I said, we have been regulars at kava bars for 2+ years so clearly there was something different about this dose/drink. We were also off put that they didn’t even offer to refund us after the horrible experience.- We spoke to the owner of another kava place and told them our story and what happened, they said something like this should NEVER happen regardless of how strong a drink is.In conclusion, BE CAUTIOUS if going to this place. We will never be returning, but if you do go make sure you are given the appropriate amount of plant. It is our opinion that NO ONE should be made so ill by one drink, even having not eaten for a few hours, and especially having drank kava/krantom before.
