Nice tasty food and friendly service for lunch. The crispy polenta and crispy skin salmon and my favorites.

Lakeside Kitchen is a very nice restaurant with a romantic feel about it. The food was really good and the service was just good. My only issue was finding it‼️ it is so tucked away. There is a beautiful view of the lake and lots of lovely spots to take photos if you like. Great outdoor seating for spring and summer. I look forward to going back‼️

Hidden gem indeed! What a nice place for an evening cocktail and meal. Really nice ambiance. Good menu with dishes that were distinctively modern with a southern twist. Presentation, taste and freshness in all the dishes - tostada pescado, fried catfish and Brussels sprouts. Goat cheese beignets were a hit. Well done off the beaten path!!

Great spot for lunch, dinner and even a private event. Excellent menu and courteous staff. Private setting.

Lakeside was the perfect setting for a casual lunch minus the hubbub experienced from other popular lunch hot spots. The menu was not extensive, but offered a gratifying selection for vegetarian and other choices to please all. The food was excellent, especially the butternut squash bisque. It was so good, that we ordered another bowl. Aside from the otherwise excellent service, the 2nd bowl of soup took way too long to appear. An explanation was given that this was the chef's experiment of the day, so perhaps they ran out (which was not a reason given) and the chef graciously whipped up another batch on the spot. Regardless, it was delicious and due to the ambiance and privacy of the dining experience, I will return again.

Fantastic first experience at Lakeside Kitchen. Our server, Lisa, was so kind and responsive. We loved her menu suggestions. The butternut squash soup was amazing, and my husband loved the burger. The atmosphere is relaxed and lovely. We'll definitely be back!

My daughter and I were in Raleigh to visit my son and stayed at the StateView Hotel for a few nights. We popped into Lakeside Kitchen for a late lunch. Ordered the Caesar salad and shrimp tacos and a glass of rosé. All were phenomenal. Very tasty food and wine. Ambience was great and our bartender/server was amazing. Highly recommend!

This was amazing. Had visitors from Japan and the entrance to the center blew them away. Phenomenal portrayal of NC State as a great institution. I was disappointed that it was not very busy for a Friday afternoon, so I may send a note to my departmental colleagues telling them of the new Lakeside ‘Kitchen' (though the “Kitchen” seems out of place for the venue). I also miss the free chocolate chip cookies (to die for).

Wonderful atmosphere and the food and service are impeccable. Had the chicken sandwich which was cooked to perfection and the fries are some of the absolute best. My friend had the hamburger and salad which were delicious too. Love this place, it's proximity to downtown, easy parking and to get to.

This was our first time to the Lakeside Kitchen. It's nice little restaurant and because the weather was so nice we chose to sit outside. The tables were all in the shade and the lake was in view of our table. I actually chose the restaurant because they had a skillet choc chip cookie w/ice cream that looked good. It was smaller than expected (actually just the right size), but he/we weren't disappointed with its taste! (And no, we didn't do dessert first LOL) When we got there we were seated right away and drink order were taken. Caution, they serve soda in can, not fountain drinks. After looking at the menu we both decided to get Caesar salad and what was impressive was that they used crouton crumbles which made it crunchy in every bite, instead of breaking your teeth on the huge burnt/dry bread pieces! For entrées my wife chose the Angus burger, which she really enjoyed, it was cooked perfectly, with non-burnt bacon and shoe-string fries lightly salted and with parsley flakes. I chose the shrimp tacos (got 2, could only eat 1) also with fries, which I also enjoyed. We were hoping to walk down by the lake (Lakeside Kitchen is their name), but sadly there was no path to take us there, so we looked at the statues on our way back to the car. Even though the menu was small we really enjoyed our meal here. Try it out!!

as the owner of Lakeside Kitchen and someone that has been in the industry for 40 plus years, I must say I was totally taken by surprise by the recent lunch I experienced at Lakeside. I took a colleague to lunch who happened to be in town last Friday. On a whim after trying to decide where to go, I said let's go to my company's new place over on NC State Centennial Campus. I know my group does good work. No, they do Excellent work! I can't say enough to tell you what a great experience this was. From the quality of the food served to the level of service that came our way to the overall ambience of the restaurant itself, I knew things would be good but this exceeded my expectations. I'm sure you might think I'm a bit jaded when it comes to my own company but my staff will tell you I'm most likely their worst critic. I really can't say enough good things about it. Come and experience the hospitality of Chef James Eason and FOH/Bar Manager Joshua. You will not be disappointed.
