Visiting family and they raves about this place and it was really good. The staff was very friendly and the food was amazing. I will be back before we leave.

Ahhhhhhmaxing food and service!! We had hush won our table within minutes of arriving! We wanted to try everything- our sweet server helped us with a combo that allowed us to try everything we wanted. 1/4 rack of St Louis rib, BBQ pork with a side of Brunswick stew and a side of Chicken Pastie. We are bug eaters and we were stuffed. The sauces are perfect companions. Friendly and attentive employees that greeted us with a smile and warm welcome. Super quaint dining room with antiques and cute memorabilia. We will be back next time we fly in or out of Raleigh-Durham Airport (RDU) or are staying in the area

Ole Time Barbecue serves up great food in Raleigh! My husband and I stopped by for lunch, and it was relatively busy. Luckily, we didn't wait too long to be seated. The interior is like a cozy American diner with a lot of interesting knick-knacks and pictures from throughout the years. The service was quick and friendly. We ordered the BBQ Pork Plate and the Fried Chicken Plate, both of which come with two sides and hush puppies! That's already a generous amount for a great price in my opinion. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and left feeling full and satisfied. All in all, I'd definitely recommend checking this place out!

I ate dinner at Ole Time Barbecue on Friday, March 28, 2024. People go here for the food, not the ambiance. I ordered the large barbecue plate with fried okra and potato salad. My friend ordered a barbecue sandwich. All of my food was quite good. I was very surprised that fried okra in March was so good. The barbecue was excellent. The potato salad was really good. I would have given this review 5 stars immediately after eating, but I paid by credit card and there was an undisclosed fee for using a credit card. It is possible there was a notice on the menu that I overlooked. If I had seen a notice, I would have just paid the fee, but I would not have overtipped as I did.

This is a true locals hang out with fantastic Eastern North Carolina pulled pork that was so good with their homemade sauce and two sides – loved the mac & cheese and the coleslaw. in addition to the fantastic barbecue, the real start of the show are the long narrow hush puppies that come steaming hot in a basket to your table. What a delicious treat. We were so full we couldn’t eat dessert so – we took home the banana pudding, which was a tasty treat.

I love little, independent restaurants with great food, and as I was looking through my DoorDash app, I saw that Ole Time Barbecue had a sandwich that always ranked five star ratings. That put me in the mood for barbecue and I had to try it, and right then...and I'm so glad I did! I hightailed it over there deciding not to wait for delivery!I hadn't sat down for even a minute when a big bowl of complementary, homemade hushpuppies were placed in front of me. Now, that's what I call service! And, they were GOOD!I've never had a barbecue pork sandwich prepared the way this one was, but it was soooooo yummy and tender. Usually, barbecue pork is chopped, sliced, or pulled (At least where I'm from) but I think Ole Time Barbecue grinds up their barbecue pork. It appeared to be grinded, but either way, it was delicious and so tender! The potato salad, what looks like mashed potatoes in my photos, were good, too. Their barbecue baked beans were very yummy, just like everything else on my plate. It was all simply delicious, so delicious that I hope the patrons in this packed restaurant didn't hear me, "Yumming!"My favorite dish, however, and it was the best I've ever had, was their homemade banana pudding! It was unbelievable, phenomenal, and full of yummy goodness! By the way, all of their desserts are homemade! The servers were very friendly and their service was great, but the hostess/greeter/cashier....well, maybe she was just having a bad day; she was cold and rude and shouldn't work with customers.

OLE TIME BBQ is always a great experience. We recently went to a wedding where City catered and it was so good we decided to start eating here more often. It did not disappoint.

This is our new favorite barbecue place in Raleigh. No muss, no fuss, just good food, good service and good prices. I eat way too many of their hush-puppies because I can't stop myself. The pork sandwich is generously portioned and delicious. I put a little of their spicy house sauce on it. You like sides? The baked beans, the slaw, mac and cheese - all good. Skip the fries. The people here are friendly, efficient, and we're pretty sure all of them are there all of the time. The place is not very big, but they turn over the tables quickly, especially at lunch when the parking lot is full of contractors' pickup trucks. That too should tell you something about this place.

Great service and excellent country cooking. There is a reason it's been around so long and stays so busy at lunch.
