Great management, cool drink ideas, small enough to be personable. It is a pirate bar though… and it has seahorses!

Hands-down one of my favorite spots on Glenwood! It’s one of those places where I feel proud to leave the bartenders an extra large tip because It’s obvious that the awesome people make this place what it is.My friends joke that P&P is my first, middle, and last spot. Other spots simply don’t compare to this vibe when out for a night on GWS.

I ordered the pirate cup drink, and paid $12 plus tax on a cheerwine. It tastes like cough medicine.

The bartender and owner, I Dean, saved my life when I was choking on a lime. He is amazing! I love this place.

Pearl and peril is my favorite bar!! Such good vibes and they have really unique and fun drinks to choose from. The shotski is always a hit and we get a Polaroid photo to capture the memory.

I always stop here. It's probably not the best bar in Raleigh but is really funky and I like the little side balcony where you can people watch on the street.

On New Years Eve, my friend declined a hug from a security guard, so he removed her from the bar with excessive force by throwing her outside onto the concrete. She was bleeding from several places and had nasty bruises the next day. We were not allowed inside to file a formal complaint the night of the incident. Eventually, we were able to make the bar aware of potential legal action being taken against their employee.A few weeks later, my friend who had been brutally removed found herself banned from nearly every bar on Glenwood Avenue. Each bar said it was because “…of her fighting on New Years Eve.” My friend never laid her own hands on a single person. She only defended herself with her words, like an adult, after being physically hurt. Why is she being retaliated against for being wronged? My friend has been hurt and left totally without support by the bars in Raleigh. She’s a small woman who should be able to enjoy her nights out, and is instead suffering because she refused to let a MAN touch her without permission. PEARL AND PERIL and the rest of the GLENWOOD AVENUE RALEIGH, NC BAR SCENE do not listen to women. Consider this before visiting any of the bars on Glenwood in Raleigh, NC. Especially Pearl and Peril.

Our bartender was by far the rudest and most disrespectful person we met in Raleigh. She never told us her name but she was brunette, never smiled once, and made our visit uncomfortable to the point we didn’t feel welcome. I would highly suggest any other bar on glenwood Ave.
