First in last out I arrived early to order before my event. Soon a long line appeared. The cashier took all of the orders, the barista finally arrived and started filling the easy orders first and mine last. Yes, I was late for the event.

They have gotten my order wrong nearly every time. Also overpriced. Only reason I order here is when I need soemthing to eat ASAP before class. But every time I order here it’s like playing the lottery. Slim chance I actually receive what I ordered. I’m sure if I asked the people to amend my order they would do it but there’s no time for that when I have class in 10 minutes. Also the place is quite busy on several occasions and it would take 6 years for them to fix your order.

The last time I went to a North Carolina State Women’s Basketball game (11/15/23). I went next door to the student center to this Port City Java location to get an Iced Latte with sugar-free vanilla. It was not anything like what I am used to getting at the Port City Java locations in Wilmington. It had a very bitter/burnt taste. Hopefully, this was a one-off because I usually really love their coffee.

I've only been to the one in Talley. I ordered a small hot chocolate and they charged me something outrageous like $10. I sat around for 30 minutes because I didn't hear them call my name. I didn't hear them shout anything at all, even though I was really close to the counter. They had a lot of GrubHub orders, but I was the only person waiting around for my drink so I was surprised they didn't try to get my attention and tell me my drink was ready. Finally I got up and went to look at the GrubHub orders to check that my drink wasn't there. I didn't want to interrupt the two people working behind the counter since they were busy making a lot of orders, so I waited around (in front of the register, not the GrubHub waiting spot) hoping they would ask me what I needed when they got a break. They didn't, so I got their attention and asked politely about my drink. They said it was probably on the counter and pointed to the far side of the register around the corner where there was a counter I hadn't even seen, which I didn't know to go to since it was my first time. So I finally got my drink and left and it was hands down the worst hot chocolate I've ever had in my life. I felt bad but I couldn't even finish it it was so gross. I know these employees are overworked and underpaid, but the service and quality is just really bad. I'd love to support a smaller chain, but you'll have a much better time at the Starbucks right next door.

Let's be honest, I have never waited over 40 minutes for ONE drink. It's more worth it going to Starbucks where they make it on the spot. When i went, all the baristas avoided my drink which was just an iced matcha and continued to make ALL of the other drinks, leaving mine behind. The drink wasn't even good and didn't really taste like matcha. They also put some syrup in there which made it taste even worse.

Below average food but the service is much worse.I just ordered two drinks and two sandwiches. I stood at the counter reading the menu for 5mins before someone told me I needed to order on grubhub so I did that. I went to the counter when the app said it was ready and stood close by watching every other number getting picked up. After about 10 mins someone finally asked me what number I had and told me "oh that's been ready, we just ran out of your drink". Nobody told me, it wasn't marked as an error, so I swapped my drink. Finally ready to leave, they realized after all of this that they never made a second sandwich. They did not offer a discount or to cover the cost after so many mishaps. I kept quiet as they made one fresh(?) which was literally thrown at me in a bag without a word or a glance by the person preparing the food WHO WAS NOT EVEN WEARING A MASK. As someone who worked in a similar establishment for years, the staff here should be ashamed of their conduct. A disgrace.

I love PCJ and I always get an iced vanilla latte however it's always hit or miss if it's going to be good. My first job was a barista so how hard is it to pump syrup, pour espresso, and add milk? The mocha freezes are absolutely disgusting at this location - I honestly wouldn't even bother to order that. It tastes like dirt and water - literally.

I came in around 925am. I walked to counter.and was asked did I have a GrubHub order. I said no. I was rudely told that I needed to download the GrubHub App to reduce face time. But what did I want. I left. This is not the way to greet customers. I work to hard for my money to give it to people who do not know how to talk even civilly to customers. This indicates that I would have received over priced luke warm not fresily made coffee and a stale danish. No thank there are too many coffee and breakfast places to go. In this is was my McDonald's with fresh hot big breakfast and hot coffee. Starbucks would be a superior choice over your place. Never again.

When you order off GrubHub, the food shows that they have it. But once you get there, they just substitute random things in without telling you, and you only notice if you look in the bag yourself. Shouldn’t be allowed to do that without asking the customer first.
