I was very excited to try St. Roch's after looking at their menu and being a South Louisiana Native. I have to say the restaurant itself is very nice and has interesting notes of New Orleans influence. I was hoping the food would also be up to par but I was sadly mistaken. We ordered the Tchoupitoulas special which came with 18 raw oysters, 1/4 of Peel and Eat Shrimp, and Crab claws. The crab claws left me severely disappointed and the shrimp were just poached shrimp with no seasoning or flavor, not peel and eat shrimp. The only thing that was alright on the tchoup special was the oysters but it's hard to mess that up, despite the mignonette being the worst we've ever had. We'd ordered the gumbo, cauliflower Caesar salad, and Red beans and rice for our main dishes. I really hoped there would be something that could save this meal but I was once again let down. The "gumbo" that we were served was not anything resembling gumbo. What we were served was a glorified stewed chicken soup. The monstrosity lacked any depth or flavor with the only notes being that of canned vegetable soup. The "red beans" and rice that we were given were not red beans they were red peas and had to be the most disappointing bowl of red beans I've ever eaten. I'd argue that my middle school cafeteria had better red beans and rice than what we were served. I was very disappointed with our experience and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I've had my fair share of bad restaurant experiences in my lifetime but none enough to even warrant me writing a review but I knew after eating here this would be my first.

St. Roch has captured lightning in a bottle! This place ROCHS! The oysters, the fried saltines, the FISH DIP ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The cocktails are awesome as well. Can't wait to go back.

OMG the oysters were delicious. It was my first time trying both east coast and west coast oysters at the same time. The divine pines were delicious. They had a great buttery taste and the core sounders were buttery as well but less salty. Overall it was a great experience. The service was good. Our waitress was very attentive. The ambiance was great. It was a great New Orleans restaurant. I would 100% visit again

Came in for brunch. The hostess was welcoming and escorted us to the bar seating when we requested. The restaurant was clean. I love the black leather seating interior throughout. We met our bartender Steven.Steven is great! Very welcoming, engaging, professional, and did a fabulous job making recommendations.I enjoyed the Gumbo grits which did not look appetizing when they arrived but it was delicious. There was sauteed chicken, sausage, and pickled okra as well as an egg that I had on the side (i ultimately added to my gumbo). I love a savory breakfast bowl and this was just that. There was also an order of catfish by the other individual in my party along with eggs, and sausage. For dessert, we tried the Sinner Rolls which were a nice sweet treat. My cocktails were espresso Hendricks martini, French 75, and cranberry mimosa... What a time!Everything was great!Steven's cocktails were top-tier.I must add the restrooms have all the hygienic things for individuals to go out in the world on the go to conquer their day. I love this!

This place is gorgeous!! I love the little seating area that you can see through the glass! We came on a Tuesday so it was 9$ oysters for like half a dozen. The oysters were delicious. I have to be honest I REALLY like the sauce on the crab but the itty bitty meat didn't do it for me. That's ok though, my girlfriend liked em! Also, ask for extra saltines. I could just eat a TON of those haha. The server was really helpful at the start and then she kind of disappeared it was strange. We had a different server and a bartender who ended up helping with the rest of the meal.. really confused because we still saw her in the building. lol. Who knows. I'm not from here, but if you're in the area definitely check this place out!!

We stopped in while in town for a business conference based on the other nice reviews. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere is casual and hip. The staff was very friendly and prompt. I appreciated the good balance of playful banter balanced with an understanding of when our group was engaged in conversation. The food:We were told happy hour included $1 off raw oysters (we were there at 6:30) so we started with a dozen. Very fresh and tastyNext we had the fried frog legs. They were delicious. Nice batter and very tender. We could have eaten several servings, but we waited for the main course.I had the dirty rice. Basically, it's a duck confit quarter on dirty rice. Full of flavor. Our group tried the alligator bolengese and the red beans and rice. All were big hits. It's definitely worth a try. Make a reservation, but read their policy. There is a $25 cancelation fee. But there is no reason to cancel.

I wish I could remember what else I ate besides the oysters but I can't. That's how good they are! So, just go get yourself some oysters at this fine establishment and enjoy the lovely atmosphere and service.

Best oysters in Raleigh! Have a love/hate relationship with the fried saltines, but can't get enough of the oyster happy hour.

So yummy! We had the east coast oysters, west coast oysters, and crawfish hush puppies for apps. The hush puppies were fine, but the oysters were very good! The gator bolognese was SUPERB! The waiter was personable and very helpful. We went on a Wednesday around 5:30 pm and it was fairly empty, but by the time we finished eating it was filling up. Would definitely recommend!

Top tier place for seafood. 4 of us ordered a variety of seafood, and everything was great. The appetizers were very good and creative. The gator gnocchi was mild and tasty. We were too full for dessert, but they all looked great as we saw they going by to other guests. Service was good, prices are high but not ultra high.Parking: Take an Uber or Lyft. Parking is on the street, and there are several restaurants in the area.

A good place to try new foods. We got frog legs (tastes like chicken lol), oysters (fresh!), gumbo (was just ok) but the beignets (good lawd!) SO GOOD. Sadly I only ate one drizzled with caramel and it was all I ever dreamed it would be (first one). Rather pricey for what you get! $12 per small mimosa. Spent $120 for 2 people. Atmosphere is nice, esp if you get a window seat by the cool wallpaper. ? I would go again just for the beignets. Nothing else was worth writing home about.
