Nice place... But if you charge for a booth make sure the seats are at least comfortable.

I was in town and didn't want to deal with a large crowd. This spot was recommended and it did not disappoint. If you want a place to chill and relax this would be it. It's not large but it was just right for the grown and sexy. I was in jeans and a button up shirt, but all saw all types of attire worn.i didn't try any food but the drinks were on point.

This is strictly a cocktail bar, no food but super unique. I loved its off the path location, kinda feels hidden like a speakeasy. The cocktails are the real deal! Worth the trip.

Loved the Christmas at the Haymaker experience. It can take a long time to get in so I suggest going on a week night. I went on a Wednesday at 6 and waited about 30 mins to get in but when we left at 7:30 there was no line so it's hit and miss. The drinks were great (I got the Rudolph's replacement drink and it came in a dinosaur glass). The place was crowded but had enough tables where you could find somewhere to sit and have a good time with friends. I would go again!

Ew. I specifically went here for the Christmas drinks- I've never been to Haymaker before but I was really excited about the cocktail menu and expected a Green Light or Foundation vibe. We went on a Thursday, and I did see that there was going to be a DJ which I was a little wary of but the event specifically said "holiday tunes" so I didn't think much of it. When we arrived we realized there was a $5 cover, this is apparently every day while this event is going on. Decided to stay because we were meeting people, and this was the only opportunity to get these cool drinks I'd seen. Even with the cover, drinks are still $15. And as great as they sounded, unfortunately they were nothing to write home about. There were no holiday tunes to be heard, just loud hip hop music that didn't fit the bar that I thought I was going to. No seating for the amount of people there either, so it felt like a confused club with some people standing/dancing and some sitting. I wasn't able to sit and talk with anyone, so we finished our drinks and went to Fox's.

Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bar. My husband and I, our friend and his husband and a couple of our other friends were profiled, charged a deposit of $30 a glass and then were chastised for making sure they knew we’d returned the glasses. We were told we ‘had big pockets’ and could be stealing glasses !! Needless to say, instead of staying and ordering more drinks - we left - and we will not be back. The bar staff need trained in customer service and humour. Appalling. As a visitor to Raleigh, we expected more.

Great spot in downtown Raleigh. Lots of drinks and great bartenders. Sometimes there's also a dj which makes it a lot of fun

If you enjoy waiting in line and being cut be countless people who claim to “be the owner” then this bar is for you! Didn’t realize the Patel group was selling shares, with customer service like this count me in! Came by for some drinks after the nutcracker and was plagued with a long line, a bouncer who didn’t know what day it was and the ever revolving door of people claiming to be the owner. Please note after getting inside (seeing 50 people who claim to be the owner) we later find out that they are the Dj’s close friends and just sit around and don’t buy drinks or spend any money. This bar is plague by fat cats who think they can let 75 “friends” cut the line during the holidays where everyone wants to come out enjoy the bar and spend some money! I really hope management can get it together and not favor there hired third parties squad and support there local community.

Never thought a Christmas bar could provide such feelings of favoritism, defeat and overall disappointment. We waited in line like the rest of the patrons for over 45 minutes to find more than 60 people cutting the line as they “know the owner”. One person said to the crowd, “if they had more money, maybe they could get in”. I didn’t know Raleigh could offer that sort of selectivity towards a group that portrays themselves in this disappointing matter. If you want to come to a bar that makes you feel like you are a peasant with overpriced terrible drinks during the holiday season, the haymaker is for you.

Haymakers has always been a vibe and this recent visit didn't disappoint. Great music and excellent cocktails. The only thing this venue is missing is a cool outdoor space.
