The prime rib special was very good. Cooked to order and was delicious. The whole dining experience was very enjoyable before a concert across the street. Would definitely go here again before attending another concert at the Performing Arts Center in Raleigh.

Our burgers were good - not great. We were disappointed that the menu was different from the online menu. Items like Fettuccini Alfredo, Rib Eye Steak and Prime Rib were no longer available. Buyer beware!

Went to Overlook before a show at the performing arts center across the street. Restaurant has a great location, and the reviews were decent. But our experience was that the service was slow, the server spent a lot of time with her back to the dining room chatting with a co-worker, the food was super salty. And this is a restaurant in a hotel (not clear from the reviews or description) so it was overpriced and underwhelming in that chain hotel restaurant way.

The burger was delicious with the smokiest bacon I've had in a while. Fries were perfect, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The location was great and we could see the Martin Marietta center through the window. Our server was great and checked on us appropriately.

OpenTable allowed us to book a restaurant that was closed for a private event. We were redirected to another restaurant on the property that only served appetizers/small plates. The manager picked up our dinner, but it definitely wasn't the evening we planned.

Kyle was a fun bartender. Loaded duck fries were great.

The Overlook is a hidden gem. Me and girls enjoyed the several items on the menu and everything was delicious! We ate there on a busy night and our server, Kyle S., made our night seamless and enjoyable. He didn't miss a beat! He helped me to order a cocktail even thought they aren't on the menu. Great restaurant. Great food. And great service!

2nd time dining in a week. Hidden quiet little gem close to the convention center. Only complaint is they need to update their web site. Offerings on the website are different than what is available now.

Kyle is a great bartender and so welcoming! My husband and I came in late from from traveling and were exhausted. He got up our drink orders, helped us with the menu, and completely entertained us through the evening. He knew when to step away and give us alone time as well. We'll be back tomorrow!

Food was good but service was horrible for the price we paid and the presentation of the food was lacking. It took a while for us to be greeted when we first arrived, and once we were seated we debated whether we should leave to go somewhere else as we waited 10 minutes for someone to come to our table to bring waters. No one checked on us the entire time except for at the end of the meal. The chef brought out our entrees but we still had salad plates that needed to be bussed so there was no room for our entrees on the table. The waiter, while nice, didn’t know the menu they were advertising (I think I knew it better from checking before we went). We decided to splurge for a nice night out but left disappointed with the lack luster service. I usually wouldn’t leave a review but for the large price tag for the meal and given the multiple staff members who were sitting around while tables needed to be bussed, waters to be filled, etc, I felt the need to say something in hopes they can either hire someone to help or have supporting staff help run food, bus tables, etc to make for a better experience.

The Overlook over looks nothing. only one table had a view across the street and that was covered by a curtain. While it was advertised as a Valentine's Day spot for dinner. It was nothing more than a hotel Resturant. Food came to the table Luke warm and we were underwhelmed. all in all a disappointing experience.

Do not, I repeat do NOT dine here before a show. We had a 6:30pm reservation, arrived on time as soon as we were seated we told them we were going to the opera that started at 7:30, didn't even look at the menu because we knew exactly what we wanted and to go ahead and put in the order. They said somebody would be back to take our drinks. 40 min later, still no body ask for out drinks, our food comes out and not only is it bone dry it was cold and dry like it had been sitting out. We asked for our check, it never came. We barely touched our meal and told the manager of the issue and left. I have never in my life, straight up decided not to pay for a meal and leave. This was a terrible experience. We ended up having to go to the show hungry.

Our waitress, Marie, was great. You should not call this 2nd floor restaurant "The Overlook". We thought our reservation was on the 10th floor restaurant. That deserves to be called Overlook.

Terrible. I was a regular customer dining there before Symphony concerts across the street. Arrived at 6:15. Received food at 7:30. Wait staff did the best they could. Staff couldn't give any idea when food would be ready, only that it was "on the way". After that wait, food was mediocre at best. Multiple customers - also waiting - were walking to the kitchen door to either check on their meals or to try to check out and leave. Very disappointing. Won't return unless I hear things have turned around in the kitchen.
