The staff was incredibly friendly! There was plenty of space to get some work done. I had the yogurt parfait and ended up buying a bag of their house-made granola. So good!

This coffee shop is in our neighborhood and being a small business, we loved supprting it but our last visit was our last. We had family in town so there was 8 of us and we walked over to Third Place. The only employees were 3 teenage girls. I knew already that one of the coffee machines was broken and the wait would be longer which was fine. However, it was almost an hour before the last of us got our coffee. On top of this several items in our order were wrong. Towards the end I just stood by the counter because we had two lattes with non-dairy milk that were still not made. I watched as the as one of the girls poured regular whole milk into the pitcher and steamed it. I asked her if that was for the two lattes and she said yes. I advised her that I had ordered oat milk because of allergies. The other girl that was working gave me a huge attitude telling me that it was not on the little sticky note that they take all the orders on. The girl who took my order was standing right there and I said, I specifically asked her what non-dairy milk they had before ordering the oat milk so whether she actually wrote it down or not, I don't know. The girl making the coffee poured out the milk but of course didn't bother to use a different pitcher or rinse it before pouring in the oat milk which for anyone with allergies is a bad idea. But the final straw was, as I stood waiting, the girl who took my order walked over to the little bar area where all the food to make sandwiches is and put a handful of shredded cheese in a bowl. She then began to to use her fingers to eat the cheese, literally putting her fingers in her mouth right there at the food prep area! Yuck! So unsanitary. If you're going to eat and especially if you're putting your hands in your mouth, do it in the back room or somewhere out of sight and wash your hands after. She didn't bother to wash her hands by the way. So it's a shame because we did enjoy walking there from home to have a coffee and a sandwich and although the service had started declining some time ago, it had never been this bad. I was flabergasted by the lack of organization, rudeness and of course completely unsanitary behavior around the food.

I graduated from NCSU remotely during pandemic and last weekend I went to visit my PhD advisor in person. Me and my advisor’s family went there Sunday morning and waited 1+ hour for just 5 simple sandwiches and bagels. When the food were served, one of the kids’s bagel was not even there and he was very upset and hungry. Obviously the lady either forgot to write down the order or the chief forgot to cook it. Since I invited them for brunch and I wanted to pay for the whole order as a thank-you, the experience turns out to be awful and embarrassing for me.

I went about an hour before close to get a smoothie and bagel. It was extremely busy but the ladies were so kind and hustling to get everyone’s orders out asap. I heard them apologize for the wait to everyone and they were being patient with each other. I’d wait for this kind of service any day (and bonus great lox bagel)

Third Place is on my way to work and when I have time to spare I always try to stop in because not only is the espresso/coffee EXCELLENT but the quirky little gifts/trinkets and the incredibly friendly staff/owner make for a wonderful start to the morning. Today, on my way to my car I dropped one of my lattes in the parking lot (lol) and when I went back in to purchase another the owner and his staff both immediately insisted on making me another one at no charge and refused to let me pay. Genuine customer service like this is almost impossible to find anymore and they have gained a customer for life. If you're in need of incredible local food/coffee and a pair of Betty White socks or a pen with a cheeky saying, this shop is the one for you. Maybe my 2024 resolution can be actually waking up earlier so I have enough time to stop by and support Third Place every day!

Let me tell you something. Run (not today because it’s Christmas) and get yourself that breakfast burrito with all the deliciousness tucked perfectly inside. I added crispy bacon. There was lots of spinach and YUM going on. Oh! AND the outside was warm and crispy! They didn’t just throw fillings in a wrap! Crunchy and perfect! I only ate half yesterday, but re-warmed this morning, it was maybe BETTER! SO good! 3rd Place is a great place filled with amazing friendly patrons. GO!*I wish I’d shot a photo. ??‍♀️

Very cute, cozy spot for a quick breakfast. Loved the neighborhood atmosphere. We got breakfast sandwiches and lattes, and they were simple and tasty. For sure recommend if you’re in the five points area for the day.

I took one sip of the oat milk latte and threw it away. Hands down the worst latte I’ve ever had. I didn’t even wait for them to finish making my bagel and cream cheese.. they didn’t even have the bagel I originally wanted. I wanted to like this place, it looks cool enough but the coffee sucks.
