Chico’s has been around forever, they have a nice view by the river.The food is mediocre. This place needs a make over!!!If you sit outside be careful of the wasps in the umbrellas and big bumble bees nesting in the wood.Wheelchair accessibility: Right in the front of the restaurant

Pleasantly surprised by this place!!! So far the best Mexican in Rocky Mount. Prices are a bit high - but far outweighs spending $$$ for bad Mexican food.

I unfortuantly have to agree with quite a few of the recent reviews. Chico's used to be sure a solid choice for Mexican, but it simply no longer holds up. It's extremely outdated and feels very much like a hole in the wall now and the prices just keep going up. I miss coming here in the early 2000's, so hopefully with they are able to get themselves back to that era, I'm certainly rooting for them.

3/7/24. Slow service. Placed an order for pickup; it was supposed to be ready in 10-minutes. Arrived at the restaurant in 15-minutes. Had to wait another 15-minutes after I paid for the food to be ready.

Chico's I really want to give you guys a 5 star rating but the only thing that's stopping it is the portion of the food. The wings are so tiny it feels like we're getting ripped off. I understand you go by the pound but my god You throw in like 4 more wings to make up for it. And the potato skins I think you should at least have six seeing the price went from $9.99 to now $13 my head liked to came off my body.. over all the service when I eat there Togo or eat it it's a 9/10 environment is nice and clean friendly staff.. let's work of the portion sizes and you guys will be top of the game..

Food was good, but not $71 good, for 2 adults and a 9 year old. And they charged me 95 cents, for a small bowl of lettuce. I said something to the waiter, and he said the kitchen told him to charge it, I said this is crazy, and that we won't be coming back, he replies with "that's fine", and just walks off, cashes us out, came back with receipt, layed it on the table, never said a word and just walked off again. Tip? ?? not tonight kid. Price wise, they have gotten ridiculous. We love Mexican food, but this place will be taken off the list. ?✌️
Food- poor quality. Rice was dry as heck like little pellets, beans lacked flavor. My stuffed chili rejeno had a very tough/ chewy texture I think came from the egg batter. I didn't care for it so I stopped eating it half way through. The cheese enchilada had cheddar and that was fine. The free chips and salsa was mediocre imo. The salsa was like a very thin soup. It lacked body and flavor/ freshness. Service- our waitress was friendly. Although the pace of the food coming out of the kitchen was god awful slow. People sitting there as we arrived were just getting their own food only AFTER we had gone thru 2 free baskets of chips/ salsa waiting on our order. Ambiance- it was nice to be looking over the Tar River as the building is historical. I wasn't a fan of hearing all the loud patrons sitting at the bar over in the next room. But we knew it had a bar when going here. I wouldn't suggest this place for a date night. Overall, due to the food quality, we won't be going back.

Chico's just isn't what it used to be. The food is not good. Seems like leftovers and very dry. The restaurant itself seems dirty and nothing has changed on the inside since the 90's. It could really use a remodel. The prices are outrageous for the subpar food. The only decent part of our dinner was the fried ice cream. The most appalling part of dinner was the dollop of sour cream...about the size of ONE tablespoon. They charged me $1.29 for each spoonful. They should be ashamed of letting this once fabulous restaurant go so far downhill.
