I love the 10 course chef tasting experience. Just do it. It's a treat! This is my favorite place to go when I visit Saluda.

Service is always spectacular. Dinner cost us 4 times more than lunch for the same plate of food. They’d probably get a lot more dinner traffic without the restrictive inflated “Courses” prices for night time. I’ll go back for lunch, but not for dinner.

Reserved for Easter dinner. Menu was very secretive about just what one might be served. Go to their website and youll see what I mean. Entree + side $50. Got there 530 pm to lear the only available option was Brunch buffet. Really? BRUNCH? At 5:30pm? But okay, I try it. Everythjng on buffet was Lukewarm: French toast, tough overdone lamb in unremarkable brown gravy. Dinner mate said the shrimp and grits were good. Bill comes and it is $50 buffet, $15 glass of wine (they did have pretty good wine List) AND "$13.98 Food delivery fee". What "delivery"? It was a buffet! Then there was a blank space for a tip. I wrote in "Food delivery fee equals no tip." I won't be back.

Had Easter buffet with my wife at Azalea. It was the worst $132 I have ever spent (for two buffets and one coffee). To be honest, I didn't know what the price was going to be and didn't ask, but in retrospect, first impression is, there was very little selection for the price. Worse, the food was horrible. The Morel mushroom consumme looked and tasted like bland dirty water. The purple sweet potato casserole was somehow not sweet at all, and was also tasteless, and the green beans were likewise bland and boring. To be clear, my sense of taste is very strong and at home I cook with very little salt, so for me to say something is bland, it's BLAND. The only thing that tasted good was something that they didn't need to cook at all - the arugula and raw onions, which at least were fresh and very flavorful. That was the first and last time I will ever go to Azalea Bistro. This is an edit to my review, after seeing the owner's response. Apparently the owner's attitude is as bad as their food. Also, the owner might not be a managing owner, or possibly a liar, because there were onions in the salad (and there was only one salad - I do not call a cabbage cut into quarters and drizzled with bacon a salad), and if the purple goop was not purple sweet potatoes, you should have a talk with your staff, because that's what I was told it was when I asked. Regardless of what it was, it was not edible. Lastly, I cook very well, thank you. I've also traveled all over the world and ate foods from many countries, and your food was pretty close to the bottom. Lastly, only a Karen like you would respond to a review in the way that you did. A normal person would have recognized that others read those reviews and attempted to at least be apologetic (even if you're faking it). Now you'll probably lose more business because of your nasty, snooty attitude. Also, if I could not afford a meal, I would have asked how much it was upfront, and I didn't, because I probably make more money than you do. I screen captured your response, just in case you decide to change it...

This was one of our most fabulous meals in Western NC!!!! What a wonderful surprise to have a world class French restaurant up here. The chef was warm, friendly and informative, the waiter was also but more importantly.....the food was outstanding.....an explosion of tastes with every dish. Looking forward to going back soon.

My risotto came out cold and the flavor was bland. My date had the salmon which she really enjoyed. The prices were very high and the portions were small. The wine selection however was very good and fairly priced. The service was average. Staff consistently came over and asked how things were before you had a chance to taste. There was only one other diner in the restaurant so I don't understand why they didn't notice I hadn't tasted the food yet. Often there was no staff whatsoever in the dining room.

I rated all categories at 1 star only to get to this comment section as we did NOT eat there. Made the reservation thru Open Table, but turns our they are CLOSED for the season. Huh!? I was still able to make a reservation!? Not sure if this is on the restaurant or Open Table, but c'mon! The description and pictures sure looked interesting - maybe I'll be back someday.

A friend has been raving about this place. I tried to go for my birthday, but the phone message says they are "closed for the season", the website is even more vague and doesn't even mention anything that. 3 stars for poor communication.

We visited Azalea Bistro for a friend's birthday. We enjoyed a wonderful brunch. The service was wonderful. Seating was comfortable. The coffee was the best cup of coffee I've had in the region. It was simple, balanced, and flavorful. But the food! It was delicious. I never thought I would love a green bean omlette. You have to try it. The French breakfast was fabulous. French toast, yes. Really, everything was wonderful. Thank you for making our day.

Took my Mom for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful meal and experience. Delicious entrees and excellent service. We thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail at every plating. The quality and flavors did not disappoint. Thank you for helping us make it a memorable experience for my mother.

The food was absolutely amazing but it seems they need to have more people working. There was only three servers working the front and they were responsible for seating, getting orders, running food, and making drinks. Their stress was definitely causing some stress on the patrons

Good: We ate a 4 course preset menu for a Thanksgiving dinner. The choices were great and the food was fabulous! The staff was kind and professional. Not so good: they staff was overwhelmed or they were short staffed, not sure which. The staff working were running hard and doing a good job but there were some delays in seating and eating. They had no bread service and could not find a bottle of the Champaign we wanted. They ran out of one of the dessert choices early in the evening. Bad: hearing the chef yelling in the kitchen. This is a great little restaurant and I would definitely return. I truly think the staff were underprepared for the busy evening. They could have definitely used some help.

Awesome service. Right up there with their five star service during all of our experiences at Azalea Bistro. Consider that as they were turning over tables and sticking to mapped out reservations back to back all day. Great food! High quality meal and wine. 4 stars rather than 5- for value example: by 4 pm they had run out of one dessert choice. First course lobster “Mac and cheese” risotto was lack luster. Main dishes were excellent. All in all, a very nice Thanksgiving experience. Kudos to the staff.
