I typically do not take the time to share a poor experience when going out to eat however I feel our experience this afternoon should be expressed in hopes this information can be used to improve the dining and customer service experience going forward. Upon arrival we were not greeted. No one at the cash register or to be seen. My husband went to the restroom while I patiently waited to be greeted and seated. Upon my husband's return I was still waiting on someone. He noticed all the help was hanging out in the kitchen still no regards to us standing waiting to be seated. Finally a young fellow poked his head out and said someone would be out in a minute. Finally a young girl seated us she was very pleasant and got us seated. We placed our order and patiently waited for our order. After about 25 to 30 minutes we were brought our food. Mind you we have no issues waiting for fresh food to be cooked and served. Unfortunately, upon receiving our food my husbands food was warm at the very least. I had to send my sweet potato fries back as they were barely warm and under cooked. The flounder was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Obviously they had issues with timing on plating the food so that everything could be served hot. If I had to guess they cooked his food first as well as my sweet potato fries while they were cooking my flounder as I stated it was served hot and was delicious. My husband did not want to be a bother so he just ate a forth of what was on his plate while I finished eating my founder and fresh cooked sweet potato fries which were cooked perfect after the first set was returned. Now to the most surprising part of our unpleasant visit: as we were leaving I went to the restroom my husband went to pay the bill. The young man asked how was his meal and my husband told him it was not good. The guy said sorry to hear that and went about his way. As my husband was leaving he turned around the young guy was mocking him and making faces. As I was coming out of the bathroom having no idea that my husband had told him that his food wasn't great I heard the young guy talking with the others in the kitchen laughing and making fun that the poor guy didn't enjoy his meal. Totally unacceptable. From a customer perspective and spending $34.00 for two meals to have such an unpleasant experience and then to be made fun of just doesn't rest easy with me. It seemed as though there was no supervision and the young staff was just having a free for all "Let's just take our time, who cares if we serve cold food and then be disrespectful on top of that! I hope this information falls in the right hands so that management is aware of what has happened and hope it's addressed so no one else that patrons your established has this experience. Quick background: we typically eat at your establishment about one to two times a month although it's probably been a couple of months since our last visit and this is the first time we have ever had this experience!

Since they closed the one in rocky mount due to health concerns,,I haven't eaten at another mayflower since,,but the family wanted to go to the one in Smithfield,,I had my reservations about it but kept quite,,But I was really surprised, the restaurant was clean and looked healthy,,plenty of very friendly staff,food excellent,,so yes surprised I was,,and left full and satisfied
Wonderful seafood. Country feel like you stepped back into Mayberry.

Was seated old gentleman was seated after me and my party of three he the older gentleman received his beverage before we was even asked what we wanted felt like she was going to wait on us last if she wasn't told to by the manager. It was cold in there colder than normal. Placed our order specifically asked for a order of Fried Okra waitress wrote in on the ticket food finally came out no okra we waited to see if she was going bring it out finally 15 minutes after she comes asking if we had a double side of okra no we didn't we had one order you know that you took the order we asked that it be taken off the ticket to not worry about it the waitress whom claim she was the manager got snappy like I wasn't going to worry about it anyway and slammed the ticket down on the table we asked to speak to the manger why she send somebody who doesn't know whats going on a manager in training whom didnt help the situation at all. The waitress had a very nasty attitude got loud and when I got loud she wanna call the law. I wanted my food at the same time as I ordered it not 30/35 minutes afterwards. I will not be returning until the get someone that treats all customers equally.
Well, if you would like greasy food served with a side of grease, dipped in more grease, then this is the place for you. If you want good quality sea food, then I would suggest somewhere else. Any place else. A McyDs fish sandwich would be better.

I ordered take-out, as I usually do. The food was good, as usual, fish, shrimp, scallops all fried and breaded nicefully, food remained still quite warm even after a moderate driving distance back home. Stuffed crab was more mushy breading this time, not even a hint of crabmeat involved. But, I was mainly disappointed by the stinginess of the allocation of scallops and butterfly shrimp. In the past, I had gotten 5 or 6 scallops, about the same number of shrimp, about 6 or so cornbread rings. This time? I got TWO scallops, 4 shrimp, 3 cornbread rings. Oh, this was the $20 Mayflower Special. For $20, I would think Id get more than what I received.(and more along the lines of the amount of items that I usually got in the box) The fish I got was an ok amount, but everything else was lacking. If you cant offer a decent platter, without being over stuck on portion control, then just dont offer it anymore.Parking: good parking availability

The server let us know when she came to our table that she was in training. It was very obvious, we had to ask for most things like paper towels and silverware. The coffee that was served was cold, and we asked if we could get hot coffee, and she did bring hot coffee the next time out. We waited over 30 minutes for the meal to be served, and the restaurant was only serving less than half the tables. During the wait, we couldn't help but notice the cobwebs along the centerline of the ceiling. The meal was good.
