I hadn't been there in years and gave it a try. Very disappointed, the food was horrible on every level. I was told it sold to the Mocksville family restaurant,, I've had 2 terrible experiences there and the manager or owner didn't contact me. NEVER GO BACK!!

THE COOK NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO COOK A STEAK THE WAY IT IS ORDERED!!! WHEN A SANDWICH IS SUPPOSE TO HAVE NO LETTUCE OR TOMATO DO NOT PUT IT ON THERE AND THE LETTUCE WAS WET AND MADE THE BUN SOGGY!!!!! THE OLD HAG THAT WORKS HERE ALSO GIVES DIRTY LOOKS TO PEOPLE!!! DEFINITELY NOT COMING BACK HERE! I USE TO HAVE A 5 STAR RATING ON THIS PLACE!!!

Now that was disappointing. The broiled seafood platter was less than appetizing. I rarely leave fish on my plate but I did tonight. Shrimp, oysters, stuffed clam shells, Canadian Flounder, my neighbor's Scallop. None seemed really fresh/ fresh cooked. Maybe it was because we were late in the afternoon around 6 but it was barely edible. The hushpuppies were good and Isabella, the waitress was maybe kind of new but she made every effort to provide good service. This was my first visit to Captain's Galley for about 35 years. I am thinking that the regular fried seafood range must be better. Maybe I will go back to try that again some day and try that. Maybe this was just an off night.Oddly noticeable. The paper towel in the men's' room dispensed for me in about 3-4" lengths that came off in pieces and I was apparently limited to 2 lengths. I waved and pushed and couldn't get another.

I called in an order to go and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes and I got there in 30 minutes and waited 20 more minutes. I paid when I ordered and food not ready and was told it’s going to be about 20 more minutes I said bad words and got my $55.00 back. I will never go Back

POOR MANAGEMENT AND TERRIBLE FOOD PORTIONS FOR BEING CHARGED OVER $30. We ordered a combination plate of S & P Catfish & Popcorn Shrimp with Baked Potato, a Children's Popcorn Shrimp with Mac 'n Cheese, and a side of broiled scallops. My husband got a small portion of Shrimp with his catfish, he only received TWO (2) HUSHPUPPIES, AND NO SALAD THAT HAS ALWAYS CAME WITH COMBINATION PLATES. My children's Popcorn Shrimp plate only had 4 hushpuppies. My side of BROILED SCALLOPS WAS COLD AND WAS ONLY 4 SCALLOPS (Which the manager justified because they only charged us for fried SCALLOPS instead of broiled). WE WERE NOT offered any type of compensation of any sorts for what we were shorted. AS A MATTER OF FACT, WHAT SHE SAID WAS WE HAVE A SIGN THAT SAYS NO REFUNDS. I DIDN'T ASK FOR ANY REFUNDS AT ALL, Just to have it made right on our possible return visit.... SHE SAID ABSOLUTELY NOT IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM... I TOLD HER WE WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THE CAPTAIN'S GALLEY EVER AGAIN, AFTER PROBABLY 20+ YEARS OF PATRONAGE, AND WE WILL BE SURE TO LET EVERYONE WHO WE KNOW, JUST HOW THEY DON'T VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS NOWQ. SO IF YOU READ THIS, MAKE SURE TO SPREAD THE WORD SO NOONE ELSE GETS DISRESPECTED THIS WAY TOO... When orders were placed before new management changes, you always received endless BOWLS OF HUSHPUPPIES. Now, you don't get enough to cover the bottom of the bowl.... When I asked the lady who said she was a manager, if she was not gonna do anything to make their shortcomings correct for us, SHE MADE IT CLEAR THAT WAS NOT THEIR POLICY..... THEY DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT US COMING THROUGH THOSE DOORS AGAIN...

The only problem is when you go to pay. One young lady is trying to answer the phone, run the register, and seat people. I have been there three times lately and it's the same way. Might want to get some help before you start losing business.

I am very shocked at how far downhill this restaurant has gone. Do not get take out from here unless you plan on being ripped off. The prices have skyrocketed and the quality has crash and burned. The food was undercooked, soggy, greasy and the order was all mixed up. It is sad that they do not stand by their own food. For a restaurant in a small neighborhood town you would think they would care but I am afraid that this restaurant will no longer have my or any of my family's business. To say at one time I worked here and was proud of it but not anymore.

Ordered jumbo grilled shrimp (17.95). ?It was rubbery in texture, all curled up and not much flavor. I was very disappointed. We've dined here before and enjoyed our meal very much.
I was greated very nicely by the hostess and waitress. Food came out in a reasonable time and I was very happy with the food, came out hot and ready. I would definitely come back again and bring more guests next time.

This place was hurting on staffing tonight. One host, one waitress was not enough for the people in the restaurant tonight. Did not want a large combo but was told I couldn't get a senior combo that had oysters on it. Made no sense at all and than the food was ok, not great.
