“I love any restaurant with giant anthropomorphic hot dogs at the door and pinball in the back. Luckily, Shorty’s meets its classic theming with solid food.Read the yellowed peg board sign and discover all the possibilities: classic chili cheese hot dogs, pimento hot dogs, meatloaf burgers, fries, and so much more. There’s no wrong way to indulge in the menu, everything my group tried was excellent.The highlight, of course, is the hot dog. Vibrant red casing and the perfect chew make for a delicious hot dog, and the bun and toppings add to it all. The meat loaf sandwich was also excellent, like a burger but with a meat loaf patty instead of normal burger meat. More savory but the same presence on the bun.You can add the standard toppings to their hot dogs, plus extras like pimento cheese if you’re feeling zany.They have pool tables, some pinball machines, and arcade sticker machines in the back. It’s a delicious establishment that doesn’t pretend to be anything other than what it really is: a hot dog temple.“

“This place has good fresh hot food! I had delivered and it was still warm. I ordered the foot long beef hotdog with chilli cheese and slaw and large fried bologna sandwich. It was toasted and very juicy, with mayo tomatoes and cheese. Great service...shout out to Shannon!!!!“
“Food was delicious as always with Snoopy's. Got a burger and beef frank with chili, onion, and mustard. The side of fries were hot and fresh.Seating is outdoors only. Tables have umbrellas, but you may get a little wet if you decide to eat here on a rainy day“
“So, I ordered the bacon cheese fries. Well, to my surprise, the bacon was one strip torn into little pieces. I didn't have any complaints about the burger and the chicken strips. They were brought for the grandbabies. The place is a little pricey, but to have it cooked right in front of you makes up for it.Kid-friendliness: There are three items for the children to eat. Chicken, Hot Dogs, and a burger.“
“One of my favorite to visit. The food and service is what’s good. Came into tonight and it was fairly busy. The team handled it very calmly and smooth, and worked beautifully as a team. Even had a team member who came in on an unscheduled shift and offered to help out. The manager communicated amazingly with his team, and everyone was upbeat and smiling. Loved the energy. Will definitely start coming here more after what I witnessed tonight. Thank you for the delicious food as well!“

“Wayback Burgers is a relatively new addition to the recently completed Wheatfield Shopping Plaza on Forestville Road in Wake Forest. It's nice, it's clean and there is ample parking. The staff were friendly and attentive. My order came out quick and was brought to the table. I went with the A-1 Burger with a side of onion rings (breath mint needed after). It was good and tasty. The onions rings could have been a bit crisper and they needed more seasoning. They offer an array of dipping sauces for them. I went with the chiplote. It went well with the rings. Overall a 3.75. I'll definitely be back to try one of the other burgers soon and maybe the free milk shake I have for signing up for the text alerts.“
