My Auntie and I went to "Little Washington" to visit our Aunt, who is in a nursing facility. While visiting were extremely hungry. We drive around looking for seafood. I finally pulled over and googled restaurants in the area. Lo and behold, we found Backwater Jacks & decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. Friendly employees, good service, food was on the table within 15 minutes. Shrimp basket with fries. Yummy to our tummies. Food was freshly cooked and piping hot, just like I like it. I/we will definitely revisit there again. Indoor & outdoor seating. Perfect view of the river across the street. Nice atmosphere. I definitely recommend!Parking: We parked in front of the restaurant very close to the entrance. Even if we did have to walk a little it would have been fine because it's on the waterfront

Sat us at a dirty table. Ordered 2 different beers, they were out of both. Ordered the nachos as an appetizer, literally the worst nachos I have ever had in my life. Chicken was cold, cheese was shredded cheddar that looked like it got heated up in the microwave. They put black olives all over the nachos as well, like ALL over. We ended up not even getting entrees bc we were so mad at everything else.

I usually don't give bad reviews but after being forgotten for thirty minutes and having a manager come check on us to see if the waitress had been by I figured it was a regular occurrence. I feel like it's probably a better bar than restaurant. The food is nothing special and the ranch was not homemade. Crab dump was all lump but still good. All sandwiches were dry and bland. The view is so pretty and I can see how it's a popular spot despite what we experienced. If I came back I'd get a drink at the bar but not the food.

Hearty new england clam chowder! great bloody mary and fried oysters with sweet potato fries, oh my! yummy ?
They were very busy, I'll start with that. Food came quickly. Outside of that service was pretty slow, almost painful. The shrimp burger is shrimp on a bun. After I added my side of slaw, tarter sauce, and a touch of ketchup, it was pretty good.French fries were excellent. My wife had the sweet potato fries, which were also pretty good. This is not the first time we have eaten here. Overall, I do like this spot and we will be back.Sorry, no photos, medium sized shrimp on a bun and fries in a basket.....

The wife had a Rubin and sweet potato. Fries were a little overcooked and cold. I got the coconut shrimp which was delicious. The wife enjoyed the Rubin Sandwich.
Just a nasty little dive. The girl who was supposed to seat us handed us menus and said seat yourself. Place is dirty.

Great little gastropub. Quaint little place on the river/creek. Love that it was a Jimmy Buffet hangout when his boat was being built in Washington, NC.
Every time I go, even if they’re busy or not, they are nice and polite and atmosphere is awesome! And the food is great to! And they are very dog friendly!

I've only had fried seafood here, it was plentiful, & delicious! Laid back atmosphere. Check sanitation grade.

Good food and atmosphere. The waitstaff are friendly. Prices are reasonable. When they have live music even better. Very enjoyable to have a laid back evening with close friends and family.
Exceptional staff - fast and friendly. Good food. Nice view, even from inside. I bet the upper deck is great. Definately worth a stop if you are passing through little Washington.
