We ordered from the "main catch" section and didn't realize until we left that our food did not come with hushpuppies. It also took 4 times asking for sauce until it was brought over. Food was great though

There are much better choices. Rustic over cooked over priced for what it is. Better fish camps around here. Try Fish Hook Cafe in Belhaven, or Dixie Queen in Winterville

First let me say that the crab cake and the grilled catfish were good. The crab cake was excellent. But after traveling all day, we looked forward to some good seafood. That is all I can say positive. My husband ordered fresh raw oysters. They were warm and not on ice. No horseradish or lemon. We wait to get to the ocean to eat real sea food when we travel. They are always on ice. I ordered for my main dish the grilled shrimp tacos. I was asked how i wanted the shrimp cooked. I’ve never been asked that before. The boy at the order counter said he gets them medium. So I’m like great. That’s what I’ll do. I asked for all the options with it, I didn’t receive the salsa, but that is not the problem. My shrimp were small, smelly, hard and cold. There is no way these were cooked fresh! You know freshly grilled shrimp with oil and seasoning present on the shrimp. These were laying around either cooked earlier that day or yesterdays leftover. Hard and chewy. Hardly fresh and grilled medium. Even worse was the smell. I smelled it right away when it was served. I only ate one. That’s all I could do worrying about not feeling well after. My husband was worried that smell was coming from his plate. It was not clean but it gave the vibe they wanted. Should be on a beach. I would only go back for takeout crab cakes. They were delicious!

Not worth going for as far as we are concerned. Hot but greasy.. we had the 3 choice plates. Shrimp, catfish, trout. No flavor so we assume all are farm fed. We got it to go so really don't know about the atmosphere.$30.00

Grilled shrimp tasted like it was fried in old or bad oil, and I get grilled because I don't eat fried. So this is not a place I trust to eat at.

Stopped in for dinner based on other reviews and info. This place did not disappoint. I had the fried shrimp and fried catfish combo dinner with fries and corn on the cob as sides. My husband had the catfish sandwich and corn on the cob. Everything was piping hot and delicious. The remoulade sauce was perfection. Service was prompt and with a smile. A girl came through the diner several times to make sure everyone had what they needed at each table. We went on a Friday evening at 545pm and didn't have a long wait. We compared this place to our favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant near Biloxi, MS, and that's a compliment!Parking: dirt and rocks with ample space until they get super busy. We had no issues on an early Friday evening.

This is a true gem of NC seafood. Can't quite call it a hole in the wall since it's a stand alone building, maybe a large shack. Crab cakes were homemade, very little filler. Bacon wrapped scallops were massive, but managed to get it all in my mouth. All seafood items have a choice of steamed, grilled, or fried. Stand in line to order like your at a fast food place, then go take a seat and they bring the food to your table. Friendly staff and great food. Will be back next time I'm in town.
