I love experiencing local restaurants and places like Stephenson’s is the reason why. Good food, good service, good hometown atmosphere, all at very reasonable price. Recommend getting the large pig (chopped pork) with a side of slaw and fried okra. They also serve corn bread hush puppies that you will love.
Wow!!!!! I got the BBQ chicken!!! Folks, let me tell you, it is SO tasty!!!! So tender, the meat just falls off the bone. The sauce is perfect in my opinion. Not to spicy or vinegary. Perfect smoke too. I also tried the BBQ sandwich, again, Tasty!!!! In my opinion, this place defines Eastern Carolina bbq? oh yes, service was great too

My absolute favorite bar-b-q restaurant! The food is delicious, the sweet tea is amazing, and the quaint decor is perfect! I never miss a chance to visit when I am in NC.
?Portion sizes are too small but the staff there are super wonderful. Food is cooked fresh to order just small portions for the price.You may get some looks there when you visit from the old timers, I simply ignored them and enjoyed my food ...I was there to eat some good food & certainly wasn't worried about others ignorance.The staff made me feel the color of my skin didn't matter?

Service was very fast, though they were out of fried okra, dark meat fried chicken, and spiced apples.Between the 4 of us, we got fried white chicken, grilled chicken, pig, hushpuppies, rolls, coleslaw, collards, corn, green beans, and fries.I recommend you get the pig, hushpuppies, fries, and coleslaw.The collards, white meat fried chicken, corn, and green beans were not great.I can't speak for the fried okra, dark meat fried chicken, and spiced apples that I would've ordered because they were out of them.
