Incredibly busy for a quite hotel, everytime I passed by this place when entering the hotel from the riverwalk, so I was curious why. First I tried one of my favorite drinks while my sons where at the pool. A cordial spritz (I believe they called Bless my Heart) and it was very nice. Then we had breakfast the day after, french toast, avocado toast and buffet. All thing delicious but what made our morning was the service. Destiny (forgive me if I got your name wrong!) was a an amazing host and waitress!

The service was great. But I think they may have the worst calamari I have ever tasted. I realized another guy ordered the calamari and barely ate any too late. The chicken wings were good. But overall, I think a few tweaks to the menu would make it better.

Overall, I’m giving them 5 stars because of the friendliness of one of the bartenders, Elizabeth. She was very helpful and one point, recommending a drink when they didn’t carry my favorite wine.As for eating there, we had the breakfast buffet, which was as expected for a hotel. The food was tasty and plentiful. The servers were polite.

Typical hotel restaurant. Food is decent. Some outdoor seating and a small bar. French fries were delicious and fish tacos were pretty good (a little dry).

Tale of 2 visits. First was bar at night and great job all around. Second was restaurant in am. Slow service and marginal food.

We tried Belgian waffles and it was great. Extra points for the syrups. The cape fear Benedict was okay.

As hotel restaurants go, this one is definitely very good. As a vegetarian I do wish they had a few more options for those of us who are meat free, but that said, the Tomato Pie I had was absolutely scrumptious and being that I live across the street from the hotel, I will definitely be going back just to have that again. As for the service, my party and I did come in late and it was clear that our server was not thrilled to have a new table come in so close to closing time and she had a bit of a detectable attitude at first. In all fairness to her, she did rally and became a bit more pleasant as our meal progressed, but she should have done a better job hiding her feelings about seating a late table.Where Board and Barrel really shines though, is with their bar. This was the 2nd time my parents were in town this summer and their second stay at the hotel and my mother could not say enough about Grace, the bartender and my sister who was also here for this visit also sang Grace's praises. She takes mixology to a true art form. As locals, my husband and I will definitely be going back to visit Grace and enjoy her wonderful alcoholic and non alcoholic libations!!!Vegetarian options: Their vegetarian options are limited, but I HIGHLY recommend the Tomato Pie.

First time here very impressed that I stayed another night. Dinner was outstanding had the Shrimp/Grits recommended by Stephanie who's service and smile was A++ Awesome atmosphere and busy but the Servers were on it! Although the next night different bartender felt like I was invisible sat at the end of the bar were she was in front of me getting mixes while I sat with an empty glass for 17 min and waited to order food. STEPHANIE you and Princess made EVERYONE feel special! Had to remove a star don't ignore the customer at the end of the bar

Disappointed in their buffet breakfast. For $18, not a lot of options except you can get your eggs or omelet made to order which I could have ordered off the regular menu. Potatoes were cold, dry and hard. Bacon was soggy and sausage was good but a little under cooked. The toaster for the bagel was not working properly so it took 6 times through the belt to get it toasted.

Wait staff was very friendly. It is right by the pool so it was a bit loud. Overall food was very good.

This was our first time at the hotel where Board & Barrel is located. We were not sure how it would go since usually places like this are not known for good food and high prices. We were pleasantly surprised. The views of the water were excellent. The server was incredibly nice and efficient. We had breakfast and were not disappointed. My wife had the oatmeal and I had the Belgium waffle. Both meals were excellent. The waffles were perfectly done with warm fruit compote and warm syrup on the side. I did not think I could brag about oatmeal but my wife said it was the BEST oatmeal she's had in a very long time at a restaurant. The prices were comparable to other restaurants in the area we have tried. Can't wait to try something different tomorrow.
