Visiting from SC to the Azalea Festival in Wilmington NC. This was a place online with seafood and buffet. The website shows crablegs and this is what brought us here. As we are at the bar we are looking for the crablegs and ask. We were told they have not served crablegs since covid. I advised what the website/online posted and that was the main reason for coming. The two ladies explained they've been trying to update the website but haven't been successful almost 5 years. Very disappointing!! I did not see any signs indicating this either. We decided to stay and the food was okay. This needs to be updated because this is false advertisement.

They said they are open but they close at 4pm. So I guess they don't want business. How you gonna pay anything if your never open.

The buffet was delicious! Fresh food and a delicious salad bar had us full! We stop by when we're in town before any place else. Super friendly and fast service!

I looooove the food here! The fried chicken is amazing, the sweet tea is the sweetest, and the people are friendly! Definitely recommend!!! I’m so glad the buffet is back!!!

I went in 1-31-2024 and was very disappointed. they had the buffet back so I was happy to see that. but the food was a big disappointment. the green beans looked like they were either very overcooked or had been rewarmed too many times. I have never eaten green beans that were so dark they were almost black. and they were basically mush. the only thing I really ate that was good and fresh was the stewed potatoes. they were very good and the tea was top notch. the Brunswick stew was not good and neither was the spaghetti. it was overcooked too. the bright spot was the waitress. she was very nice and attentive. I told the lady at the register about the food and all she said was I will tell them. can't see ever going back. can't imagine being that hungry

Food needs some work. A Lot of over cooked food. Cold food that's supposed to be hot. Not many choices and nothing was labeled only bread were cold extra brown hush puppies. It was Buffett. Service was good though. Sweet Tea was awful, the salad bar is very small with not many choices. The only seafood I seen was some kind of fried fish.

They do a great job and check a lot of old time southern food boxes but our favorite is their fried chicken. It's the closest thing I have ever found that's just like your mama fried it up in her big iron frying pan.

Best fried chicken and BBQ in Wilmington NC. Their slaw is outstanding. Great family establishment with many years of service to the community. Their family pack is our favorite pick up to bring home.

Hospitality is an A+.Its cook to order. The food came straight out of the kitchen to the table piping HOT!and was delicious!Love eating at a well-run family-owned restaurant. The barbecue is really true southern style pork barbecue. Can't beat their Fried Chicken. Breasts are moist and no grease on this chicken! One of the few places where you can order less than $30 worth of quality food for takeout and feed a family of four with leftovers!Love their hush puppies but the best thing ever is their coleslaw you can tell it's made there southern home style I don't know where they got the recipe but it's a great one.I'm a fried seafood fan as well had some of their fried seafood before but I am heading back to get me a big old fried fish platter cuz it looks so good!Parking: Huge lot.Kid-friendliness: They welcomed my autistic child with no hesitation and immediately engaged her.Wheelchair accessibility: Good access to tables.

I loved this place years but now after today 1/6/24 I will never be back. They don't warn you of a charge they give you if you need to take any left overs home. The buffet is very small and very limited in selections yet the cost is $16! Then if you have a small amount left and you're full, you must pay at the least $6 to take it home! Had I known thus before hand I would not have eaten here at all! But I ordered fried shrimp.and flounder and did not want to waste my food so asked if I could have a take out plate and was informed I would have to pay for it and that they were trying to stop people from loading up and taking it home! No more! I have only seen one other restaurant that did this and they didn't last long here in this area. I'm sad ? but I can't afford to pay $6 and more for a small styrofoam plate simply because I had a few bites of food left over, that would mean Ihad paid $23 fir a very small amount of shrimp and barely a piece of flounder. If they had large portions I could understand it but it is a very limited buffet and very small portions if younorder from the kitchen. Tiday there was only barbecue that was dried out, sausage and rice, meatballs, cabbage, mashed potatoes, collards, hushpuppies, and Mac and cheese, and a very small salad bar with a couple deserts , I didn't purposely over fill my plate in an attempt to cheat these people and I don't appreciate this at all. I hate to leave this way but I'm retired and cannot affordthus. I also think it is not right. They should at the very least have a large sign up when you walk in that warns you up front. But this way they can spring it on people. I bet they've had some angry people respond to this. Sad ?
